Women's Rodeo World Championship

It has all come down to this- the final championship round at AT&T Stadium in Arlington last night. This year was historic for the Women's Rodeo World Championship with total payouts topping the $5 million mark. Since it's beginning in May 2020, the WRWC has paid out more than $5.3 million in prize money, making it the richest women’s only rodeo event in the world and helping to propel women's rodeo events forward in the rodeo world.

This WRWC was held between round of the PBR championship, with the floor of AT&T transformed from a football field into an arena. The first event to go was the team roping. Ashtyn Pratz & Tamara Lewis took first with their quick 6.78 second run for $60,000 each. Including money from previous rounds earlier in the week at the Cowtown Coliseum, these ladies earned a total of $64,250. Taking second was Jessy Remsburg & Beverly Robbins, three time veterans to the WRWC, who stopped the clock at 7.43 to each take home a $25,000 a check. Their total winnings were $31,500. Cassidy Boggs & Rylie Smith took third for their 15.44 second run to earn $15,000 each and a total payout of $20,000.
Next up was the barrel racing and Taycie Matthews, who had a lightning fast run 13.022 second run to take first in the semi-finals, whippped around the barrels to take first in the championship with her 12.674 run and the $60,000 check. Combined with her previous winnings from earlier in the week, Matthews has won $70,000 which is the highest any athlete has earned in the
WRWC. Second place went to limited athlete, Charmaine Holdren, for her 12.984 second run to net her $25,000 in the championship and a total payout of $26,381.20. Kelsey Howard took third with her 13.025 seconds for a $15,000 check and a total payout of $22,250.

Last up was the breakaway roping and Josie Conner brought the fans to their feet with a blink and you'll miss it 1.81 second run to win the championship round the $60,000 check. Conner left Arlington just 1k short of Matthews, taking home a total payout of $69,000 from all the rounds. Cheyanne McCartney just barely missed first with her 1.82 second run for $25,000 to take home a total combined earning of $28,250. Quealy Probst took third with her 2.22 second run for a $15,000 check and a total payout of $20,500.
