Watertown Rodeo

The Watertown Rodeo was held August 22-23rd at Derby Downs in Watertown, South Dakota. All-around cowboy went to Austin Madison, who earned $1,554 for competing in tie-down roping and steer wrestling. He also took first in the steer wrestling for his 3.5 second run to take home another $1,554. Kyle Bloomquist took first in the bareback riding for his 76 point ride on White Russian (Bailey Pro Rodeo) for $1,042. Mitchell Barney & Butch Levell took first in the team roping for their 5.2 second run to bring home $1,840 each. John Thelen took first in the saddle bronc riding for his 81 points on No. M177 (Bailey Pro Rodeo) for $1,247. Cody Huber took first in the tie-down roping for his 9.0 second run to earn $1,411.  Molly Otto took first in the barrel racing for her 15.09 second run to pocket $1,117. Taryn Sippel took first in the breakaway roping for her 2.2 second run to net her $1,894. Trav Petersen took first in one of only two qualified rides in the bull riding for his 77.5 point ride on Apollo 8 (Bailey Pro Rodeo) for $1,919. Bailey Pro Rodeo provided the stock. Ryan Hanna and Hayes Hanna were the pickup men and Jerry Jacobs and Richard Ratley provided the cowboy protection.
