The PPCLA PRCA Rodeo was held May 1-3rd in Mineral Wells, Texas, and with this rodeo being held so close to the Cowboy Capitol of Stephenville, there were of course several big names stopping by to try to pick up a check. All-around cowboy went to Quint Bell for competing in tie-down roping and steer wrestling to earn a $925 check. He took home an additional $925 for placing second in the tie-down roping with his 12.1 run. Kelton Maxfield took first in the bareback riding with his 75 point ride on Glitter & Gold (Rocky Mountain Rodeo) for $1,166. There was a tie for first in the steer wrestling between Sam Shofner and J.D. Struxness, 3.8 seconds, $984 each. Clay Tryan & Lane Mitchell took first in the team roping with their lightening fast 3.7 second run to take home $1,970 each. Brody Cress took first in the saddle bronc riding with a big 85.5 points on Path Killer (Rocky Mountain Rodeo) for $1,334. In the tie-down roping, Adam Gray took first with his11.4 second run for $1,118. There was a tie for first in the barrel racing between Natalie Bland and Kaelyn Craddock who both stopped the clock at 16.21 seconds to take home $1,009 each. Ramon De Souza took first in the bull riding with his 85 point ride on Undesire-a-bull (Rafter G Rodeo for a $1,598 check. Rafter G Rodeo provided the stock with sub-contractors Jason Murray, JJ Miller, Bobby Joe Hill, and Rocky Mountain Rodeo. Skeete Abbott and Jake Pettit were the pickup men and Austin Rudloff and Ely Sharkey were the bull fighters.
