The Okotoks Pro Rodeo kicked off August 22-24th at the Millarville Racing & Ag Society in Okotoks, Alberta. Denver Leitch took first in the bareback riding for his 83.5 point ride on Coconut Valley (Vold Rodeo) for $1,415. Matt Mailer took first in the steer wrestling for his 3.8 seconds run to earn $2,757. Dillon Graham & Dawson Graham took first in the team roping for their 4.4 second run to take home $2,454 each. Kyle Wanchuk took first in the saddle bronc riding for his big 87 point ride on Enigma (Vold Rodeo) for $1,472. There was a tie for first in the tie-down roping between Clay Elliott and Shane Smith, with both ropers stopping the clock at 8.1 seconds to net them $2,238 each. Blake Molle took first in the barrel racing for her 14.64 second run to earn $3,065. There was a tie for first in the breakaway roping between Jade Nelson and Bradi Whiteside, with both ladies clocking fast 1.9 second run to take home $1,764 each. Dakota Buttar took first in one of only two qualified bull rides with his 87.5 point ride on Effective (Vold Rodeo) for $3,045. Vold Rodeo and Northcott-Yule provided the stock. Stran Schlosser and Tyler Thomson were the pickup men and Tanner Byrne and Kris Buffalo kept the bull riders safe.
