West Texas Fair & Rodeo

The West Texas Fair & Rodeo was held September 5-13th at the Taylor Telecom Arena in Abilene, Texas. Jacob Walters was awarded all-around cowboy and took home $2,488 for entering the tie-down roping and team roping. Jacob Lees took first in the bareback riding for his 83 points on Oddly Real (Beutler & Son Rodeo) for $2,645. Ira Dickinson took first in the saddle bronc riding with his big 85.5 point ride on Revenge (Beutler & Son Rodeo) for $3,483. Tricia Aldridge took first in the barrel racing with her quick 16.88 second run to earn $3,897. Luke Mast took first in the bull riding for his 83.5 point ride on Shake N Bake (Beutler & Son Rodeo) for $3,701. There was a tie for first in the breakaway roping between Tori Brower and Joey Williams, with both ladies clocking 2.1 seconds runs to net them $4,196 each.


In the first round of the steer wrestling there was a tie for first between Clayton Hass and Rowdy Parrott, with both bulldoggers stopping the clock at 4.0 seconds to bring home $1,605 each. Shane Frey took first in the second round for his 3.5 second run earn $1,756 and first in the average for 7.8 seconds on two head to take home an additional $2,634.


Payden Emmett & Cody Tew took first in the first round of the team roping with their 4.4 second run to net them $1,805 each. There was a tie for first in the second round between Shay Dixon Carroll & Levi Lord, Bridger Ketcham & Cutter Pake Thomison, and J.C. Yeahquo & Ross Ashford with all three teams clocking matching 3.8 second runs to net them $1,494 each. Clay Tryan & Eddie Medina took first in the average for 10.5 seconds on two head to take home $2,708 each.


There was a tie for first in the tie-down roping between Travis Staley and Chantz Webster, with both ropers stopping the clock at 8.4 seconds to bring home $1,813 each. Chris McCuistion took first in the second round with his 7.9 second run to earn $1,940. Kincade Henry took first in the average for 20.5 seconds on two head to net him $2,909.


Jess Tierney took first in the first round of the steer roping with his 9.8 second run to earn $1,860. Vin Fisher Jr. took first in the second round with his 9.7 second run to take home $1,860. Jake Clay took first in the third round for 9.4 second seconds to pocket $1,860. First in the average went to Tyler Waters for 36.2 seconds on three head to net him $2,790.


Beutler & Son Rodeo and Jace Honey provided the stock. Matt Scott and James Rogers were the pickup men and Chuck Swisher and Weston Rutkowski provided the cowboy protection.
