Utah Days of '47 Rodeo

The Utah Days of '47 Rodeo was held July 21-25 at the Days of 47' Arena in Salt Lake City, Utah. Like Cheyenne, this rodeo also consists of several brackets followed by a final round.

Bracket One

There was a tie for first in the bareback riding between Cole Franks on Foxhole Gunner (Pete Carr Pro Rodeo) and Carson Hildre on Color Coded (Macza Pro Rodeo), with both riders scoring matching 83 points to net them $2,095 each and a spot in the finals.

Bridger Anderson took first in the first round of the steer wrestling with his 4.3 seconds run. J.D. Struxness took first in the second round with his 4.1 seconds run. J.D. Struxness and Mason Couch qualified to advance onto the final round.

Jr. Dees & Landen Glenn took first in the first round of the steer wrestling with their 4.7 seconds run. In the second round, Curry Kirchner & Tanner Braden took first with their 4.1 seconds run. The two teams advancing on are Cody Snow & Lane Mitchell and Jr. Dees & Landen Glenn.

Sage Newman took first in the first round of the saddle bronc riding with his impressive 88 points on American Hat's Positive Times (Andrews Rodeo) for $2,395 and punched his ticket to the finals with Coleman Shallbetter, who scored 87 points on Stockyards Babe (Stockyards ProRodeo).

Josie Conner took first in the first round of the breakaway roping with her lightning fast 1.7 seconds run for $899. There was a tie for first in the second round between Rylee A George and Cadee Williams, with both ladies stopping the clock at 2.1 seconds to net them $787 each. Cadee Williams and Rylee A George qualified to advance.

Joel Harris took first in the first round of the tie-down roping with his 7.4 seconds run. Shane Hanchey took first in the second round for his 7.3 second run. Joel Harris and Ty Harris qualified to move onto the final round.

Carlee Otero took first in the first round of the barrel racing with her 17.43 seconds run to advance on, along with Megan McLeod-Sprague who took second with her 17.58 seconds run.

Dalton Allred took first in the bull riding for his big 86 point ride on Rowtag (Andrews Rodeo) for $3,293 and a trip to the finals with Koby Jacobson, who had 85 points on Frequent Flyer (Diamond G Rodeo).

Bracket Two

Jess Pope took first in the bareback riding with his huge 89 points on Cash & Carry (Andrews Rodeo) to net him $2,395 and a spot in the finals along with Kade Sonnier, who took second with his 88.5 point ride on Midnight Special (Championship Pro Rodeo).

Kaden Greenfield took first round of the steer wrestling with his 5.1 seconds run. Chance Howard took first in the second round with his fast 3.8 seconds run. Rowdy Parrott and Kaden Greenfield will move onto the final round.

In the first round of the team roping, Lightning Aguilera & Kaden Profili took first with their 4.0 seconds run. Jaxon Hill & Jessen James took first in the second round with their 3.7 seconds run. Brye Crites & Ross Ashford and Clay Tryan & Will Woodfin will move onto the final round.

There was a tie for first in the saddle bronc riding between Jake Finlay on Exotic Dancer (Pete Carr Pro Rodeo), Waitley Sharon on Downtown (Pete Carr Pro Rodeo), and Cash Wilson on Full Moon (Pete Carr Pro Rodeo), with all three riders scoring 87.5 points to pocket $1,796 each. Finlay and Wilson will move on.

Maddy Jacobs took first in the first round of the breakaway roping with her 2.1 seconds run to earn $899. Taylor Munsell took first in the second round with her 2.0 seconds run to pocket $899. The ladies moving on are Maddy Jacobs and Shelby Boisjoli-Meged.

Trevor Hale took first in the first round of the tie-down roping with his 7.5 seconds run. King Pickett took first in the second round with his 7.8 seconds run. Britt Bedke and Brey Yore are moving onto the finals.

KariAnn Cross took first in the barrel racing with her 17.22 seconds run to punch her ticket to the next round and a check for $3,147. She will be joined by Whitley Sharp who took second with her 17.27 seconds fun.

TJ Gray took first in the bull riding with a huge 88.5 point ride on Guess Who (Championship Pro Rodeo) for $2,395 and a trip to the finals. He will be joined there by Clayton Sellars, who had an 88 point ride on Even Money (Championship Pro Rodeo).

Bracket Three

Nick Pelke took first in the backback riding with his strong 87 point ride on Cowboy Fever (Corey & Lange Rodeo) for $2,395. He will be joined in the finals by Owen Brouillette, who took second with his 84 point ride on Queezy Roller (Corey & Lange Rodeo).

Traver Johnson took first in the first round with his 4.0 seconds run. Travis Munro took first in the second run with his 3.9 seconds run. Traver Johnson and Cash Robb punched their tickets to the final round.

There was a tie for first in the first round of the team roping between Clay Smith & Coleby Payne and Tyler Tryan & Nicky Northcott, with both teams clocking 4.8 seconds runs. Clay Smith & Coleby Payne took first again in the second round with their 4.9 seconds run to punch their tickets to the finals with Coleman Proctor & Travis Graves.

Brody Cress took first int he saddle bronc riding with his huge 91 point ride on Pow Wow Nights (Championship Pro Rodeo) for $2,395 and a spot in the finals. He will be joined by Brody Wells who had an 88.5 point ride on Tony Hawk (Pete Carr Pro Rodeo).

Amy Ohrt took first in the first round of the breakaway roping for her quick 2.3 seconds run to earn $899. There was a three-way tie for first in the second round between Millie Greenwood, Amy Ohrt, and Hali Williams, with all three ladies clocking 2.2 seconds run to take home $674 each. Amy Ohrt and Hali Williams will move onto the final round.

John Douch took first in the first round of the tie-down roping for his 7.0 seconds run. Jake Pratt took first in the second round for his 7.2 seconds run. Bo Pickett and Semaj Collins Jr., are advancing to the next round.

Lisa Lockhart took first in the barrel racing with her 17.14 seconds run and a check for $3,147. She will be advancing to the next round with Hayle Gibson-Stillwell, who took second with her 17.23 seconds run.

Tristen Hutchings took first in the bull riding with an impressive 88 point ride on Jag Metals Domestic Violence (Stockyards ProRodeo) for $3,293 and to punch his ticket to the finals with Sam Southern, who had 84 points on Wingnut (Corey & Lange Rodeo).

Bracket Four

There was a tie for first in the bareback riding between Taylor Broussard on Hella Bella (Diamond G Rodeo) and Bradlee Miller on Side Show (Macza Pro Rodeo), with both riders scoring 86 points rides for $2,095 each and a trip to the finals.

Jace Melvin took first in the first round of the steer wrestling with his 3.8 seconds run. There was a tie for first in the second round between Colin Fox and Riley Reiss, with both bulldoggers stopping the clock at 4.4 seconds. Colin Fox and Jace Melvin moved onto the next round.

Cory Kidd V & Carson Johnson took first in the first round of the team roping with their 4.4 seconds run. Tanner Tomlinson & Wesley Thorp took first in the second round with their 4.4 seconds run. Tanner Tomlinson & Wesley Thorp and Cory Kidd V & Carson Johnson will be moving on.

Ryder Wright got it down the Wright way for first and a trip to the final round with his huge 90 point ride on Heart Breaker (Championship Pro Rodeo) for $2,395. Q Taylor, who had an 85 point ride on Lil Brother (Andrews Rodeo) also punched his ticket to the final round.

Danielle Lowman took first in the first round of the breakaway roping with her fast 2.0 seconds run for $899. Laramie Jackson took first in the second round with her 2.0 seconds run to net her $899. Beau Peterson and Laramie Jackson are moving onto the finals.

Quade Hiatt took first in the first round of the tie-down roping with his 7.5 seconds run. Blane Cox took first in the second round with his 7.3 seconds run. Tyler Calhoun and Blane Cox qualified to advance onto the next round.

McKenna Coronado took first in the barrel racing with her 17.03 seconds run to net her $3,147 and a trip to the finals with Gracen Harman, who took second with her 17.08 seconds run.

John Crimber took first in the bull riding with a flawless 90 point ride on Karl Childers (Stockyards ProRodeo) for $2,594 and a trip to the finals with Qynn Andersen, who had an 86.5 point.

Final Round

Bradlee Miller took first in the bareback with a phenomenal 90 point ride on Hooey Rocks (Championship Pro Rodeo) for $18,000. Cash Robb took first in the steer wrestling with his 3.7 seconds run. There was a tie for first in the team roping between Clay Smith & Coleby Payne and Cody Snow & Lane Mitchell, with both teams stopping the clock at 5.1 seconds to take home $15,500 each. Brody Well took first in the saddle bronc riding with a wild 91.5 point ride on Larry Culpepper (Pete Carr Pro Rodeo). Beau Peterson took first in the breakaway roping for her 2.2 seconds run. Tyler Calhoun took first in the tie-down roping for his 7.2 seconds run. KariAnn Cross took first in the barrel racing with her 16.96 seconds run. Tristen Hutchings took first in the finals with an 85 point ride on Tesla (Diamond G Rodeo) for $18,143

This year the total payout was $684,164. Pete Carr Pro Rodeo provided the stock along with sub-contractors Corey & Lange Rodeo, Diamond G Rodeo, New West Rodeo Productions, Universal Pro Rodeos, Stockyards ProRodeo, Penthouse Pro Rodeo, Arye Espenscheid, Jason Clemens, Andrews Rodeo, Macza Pro Rodeo, and Championship Pro Rodeo. Jeff Dees and Jake Dees were the pickup men and Connor Kimbrough and Alex McWilliams provided the cowboy protection.
