Elk City Rodeo Of Champions
The Elk City Rodeo Of Champions kicked off Sept. 4-6 at the historic Beutler Bros. Arena in Elk City, Oklahoma. Warm and humid temperatures did not detour the rodeo fans, who packed the arena to full capacity each night. Paul Tierney took home the award for all-around cowboy and a check for $2,370 by competing in the tie-down roping and team roping. He also took first in the team roping with heeler Casey McCleskey for their 4.7 seconds run to take home $2,370 each. Connor Griffith took first in the bareback riding for his 87 point ride on Quite Fancy (Beutler & Son Rodeo) for $3,490. Emmett Edler took first in the steer wrestling for his 4.3 seconds run to earn $1,989. Lavern Borntreger took first in the saddle bronc riding for his 86 point ride on Green Bay (Beutler & Son Rodeo) to pocket $3,751. Austin Lawrence took first in the tie-down roping for his 9.3 seconds run to net him $2,248. Kristi Cole took first in the barrel racing for her 16.02 seconds run to bring home $1,751. Shane Scott took first in the bull riding with a phenomenal 89 points on Shake N Bake (Beutler & Son Rodeo) for $3,807.
This year the total payout was $85,756. Beutler & Son Rodeo provided the beautiful bucking horses and fearsome bulls. Dalton Barnes and Matt Scott were the pickup men and Noah Krepps and Ryder Rich provided the cowboy protection.
