If there's one thing you can say about Taylor Munsell, she is not willing to go down quietly without a fight. Munsell made it known she had come to Cowtown to leave with the world champion title in the opening round on day two of the National Finals Breakaway Roping by tying for first in Round Six with Beau Peterson. Both ladies stopped the the clocks at 2.1 seconds to pocket $5,662 each. With this win she also broke the WPRA regular-season earnings record at $191,175. She tied for fifth in Round Seven with Shelby Boisjoli-Meged with their 2.4 seconds run to net them $1,496 each. In Round Eight she was out of the money but came back in Round Nine to take sixth with her 2.4 seconds run to earn $1,068.

It all came down to Round Ten. Rodeo fans held their breaths and were on the edge of their seats as it came down to the final top three ladies- Josie Conner, Shelby Boisjoli-Meged, and Taylor Munsell. Who would the next world champion be? Would Munsell be able to hold her spot at the top? Munsell was last out and all the eyes of the packed stands of the Cowown Coliseum were on her. She needed to be faster than a 2.2 to beat out Boisjoli-Meged for first and to tie with Josie Conner and Joey Williams for first she needed a 2.0 second run. She nodded her head, the dust flew, and the ropes looped the calf's neck perfectly. The screen read 2.0 and once the announcer declared it was a clean run the stands exploded in deafening cheers. Munsell tied for first and was the 2025 National Finals Breakaway Roping World Champion!

Rylee George, who was the only cowgirl to go an incredible 10 for 10 for qualified runs, took home not only the 2025 National Finals Breakaway Roping Average Champion title but also broke the record by 2.9 seconds. George had 29.0 seconds on ten head to take home $16,914.

Aspen Miller was awarded the Betty Gayle Cooper Ratliff Fastest Time Award. She had a white-hot 1.9 second run to win Round 8.
Haiden Thompson was also honored for winning the 2025 Resistol Rookie of the year in the breakaway roping. She went to 74 rodeos and took home $64,624.12.
