The Calgary Stampede

The Calgary Stampede was held July 3-12 at the Calgary Stampede in Alberta. This prestigious rodeo consists of three brackets followed by a semifinal round and a final round. With a payout of 50k for the winner, there is a lot on the line for the contestants.

Bracket One

In round one of the first bracket, Garrett Shadbolt took first in the bareback riding with his 86.5 point on Expose Not (Calgary Stampede) for $7,000 and first in the second round for his 88 points on Enuff Cherry (Calgary Stampede) for $7,000. Richmond Champion took first in the third round with a huge 90 point ride on Shadow Warrior (Calgary Stampede) for $7,000. There was a tie in the first round of the steer wrestling between Bridger Anderson and Jesse Brown, with both bulldoggers stopping the clock at 4.4 seconds to take home $6,250 each. Jesse Brown took the top spot on his own in the second round with his quick 4.2 seconds run to earn $7,000. Seth Peterson took first in the third round with his 4.7 seconds run to net him $7,000. Stetson Dell Wright got it done the Wright way for first in round one of the saddle bronc riding with his huge 90 points ride on Perlich's Killing Time (Penthouse Pro Rodeo) for $7,000. There was a tie in the second round between Allen Boore on Equal Money (Calgary Stampede) and Kolby Wanchuk on Glory Days (Calgary Stampede), with both riders scoring 86 points rides to net them $6,250 each. Lefty Holman took first in the third round with an impressive 90 point ride on Annual News (Calgary Stampede) for $7,000. Lefty Holman, Wyatt Casper, and Allen Boore all qualified to advance on.

Payton Scalzo took first in the first round of the breakaway roping with her 2.6 seconds run to take home $7,000. Shelby Boisjoli-Meged took first in the second round with her quick 2.5 seconds run to earn $7,000. There was a tie for first in the third round between Jenna Dallyn, Celie Salmond, and Cadee Williams, with all three ladies stopping the clock at 3.4 seconds to net them $5,667 each. There was a tie in the first round of the tie-down roping between Kyle Lucas and Haven Meged, with both ropers stopping the clock at 7.8 seconds to bring home $6,250 each. Haven Meged took first in the second round with his 7.0 seconds run to earn $7,000. Bryce Derrer took first in the third round for for his 7.4 seconds run to net him $7,000. Heidi Gunderson took first in the first round of the barrel racing for her 16.94 seconds run to earn $7,000. Sydney Graham took first in the second round of the barrel racing with her 16.87 seconds run to net her $7,000. Julie Plourde took first in the third round with her 17.17 seconds run for $7,000. Heidi Gunderson, Julie Plourde, and Emily Beisel all qualified to advance on.

Cooper James took first in the first round of the bull riding with a big 87.5 point ride for $7,000. T Parker took first in the second round with his huge 88.5 points on Purple People Eater (Calgary Stampede) for $9,083. Hudson Bolton took first in the third round with his exciting 89 point ride on Home Alone (Calgary Stampede) for $7,200. T Parker, Stetson Dell Wright, and Lane Vaughan qualified to move on.

Bracket Two

Roedy Farrell took first in the bareback riding with his big 87.5 point ride on Side Show (Macza Pro Rodeo) for $7,000. Bradlee Miller took first in the second round for his big 88 points on Blue Bells (Yule Rodeo) for $7,000. Miller took first again in the third round on Coconut Valley (Wayne Vold Rodeo) tying with Cole Reiner on Dancing Queen (Wayne Vold Rodeo), with both riders scoring matching 88 points rides to take home $6,250 each. Bradlee Miller, Roedy Farrell, and Jess Pope qualified to advance.

There was also a tie again for first in the first round of bracket two in the steer wrestling between Ty Erickson and Dalton Massey, with both bulldoggers stopping the clock at 4.0 seconds to net them $6,250 each. Trisyn Kalawaia took first in the second round with his 4.0 seconds run to earn $7,000. Don Payne took first in the third round with his 3.7 seconds run to pocket $7,000. Carlee Otero took first in the first round of the barrel racing with her 16.92 seconds run to pocket $7,000. Bracket Three

Hali Williams took first in the first round of the breakaway roping with her 2.4 seconds run to earn $7,000. Rylee A George took first in the second round with her 2.5 seconds run for $7,000. There was a tie for first in the third round between Aspen Miller and Madison Outhier, with both ladies clocking 2.6 seconds run to take home $6,250 each. There was a tie for first in the first round of the tie-down roping between Zack Jongbloed and Macon Murphy, with both ropers stopping the clock at 7.0 seconds to bring home $6,250 each. Semi-Finals

Wyatt Casper took first in the saddle bronc riding with his impressive 89.5 points on Annual News (Calgary Stampede). Cadee Williams took first in the breakaway roping with her 2.5 seconds run. There was a tie for first in the tie-down roping between Zack Jongbloed and Brushton Minton, with both ropers clocking 7.5 seconds runs. Hayle Gibson-Stillwell took first in the barrel racing for her 16.56 seconds run. Hayden Welsh took first in the first in the bull riding with his big 88 points on Home Alone (Calgary Stampede).

Finals

Bradlee Miller earned himself the big 50k check for his flawless 92.5 point ride on Ols Tubs Stevie Knicks (Macza Pro Rodeo). Riley Duvall took first in the steer wrestling for his 3.9 seconds run. Wyatt Casper took first again in the final round of the saddle bronc riding with his huge 90.5 points on Mary Lou (Yule Rodeo). Cheyanne McCartney took first in the breakaway roping with her 2.7 seconds run. Zack Jongbloed took first in the finals for his 7.2 seconds run. Hailey Kinsel took first in the barrel racing for her 16.80 seconds run. Noah Lee took first in the bull riding with his strong 77 point ride on Whiskey At Noon (Wayne Vold Rodeo).
