It all came down to Saturday night to see who would walk away with the title of San Antonio Stock Show and Rodeo champion. Wacey Schalla took first with a phenomenal 91 point ride on Disco Party (Calgary Stampede) for $16,512. J.D. Struxness took first in the steer wrestling with his fast 3.6 seconds run to earn $16,512. There was a tie for first in the team roping between Lightning Aguilera & Wyatt Cox and Kaleb Driggers & Junior Nogueira, with both teams stopping the clock at 3.8 seconds to take home $13,760 each. Jaci Hammons took first in the breakaway roping with her quick 2.0 seconds run to pocket $16,512. Stetson Dell Wright got it done the Wright way with an huge 90 point ride for first in the saddle bronc riding on R watson's Prairie Fire (Cervi Championship Rodeo) for $16,512. John Douch took first in the tie down roping with his 7.1 seconds run to pocket $16,512. Anita Ellis took first in the barrel racing with her 14.16 seconds run to earn $16,512. Tristen Hutchings took first in one of only two riders able to successfully able to cover his bulls with his flawless 90.5 point ride on Soccer Mom (Cervi Championship Rodeo) for $20,915.
Generations Pro Rodeo, Lanham Mangold, Remey Parrott, Bobby Joe Hill, Stockyards ProRodeo, Andrews Rodeo, Diamond G Rodeo, J Bar J, Championship Pro Rodeo, Aces Wild Pro Rodeo, Pickett Pro Rodeo Co, Pete Carr Pro Rodeo, Beutler & Son Rodeo, The Cervi Brothers, Calgary Stampede, Cervi Championship Rodeo, Bailey Pro Rodeo, Double J Rodeo Company, and Frontier Rodeo provided the stock. Taos Muncy, Tyler Kraft, Randy Britton, and Chase Cervi were the pickup men and Cody Webster, Beau Schueth, and Nathan Jestes provided the cowboy protection. The total payout this year was $1,585,192.
