San Antonio Stock Show & Rodeo Bracket 1 & 2

Cowboys and cowgirls are heading to Texas for a chance to get an early lead in the season in the dash for The Wrangler NFR cash with the Texas Swing rodeos. Following in the heels of the FWSSR is the San Antonio Stock Show and Rodeo which kicked off February 12th. The San Antonio Stock Show has five bracket, each consisting of three rounds. The athletes with the highest scores from each bracket will move onto the two semi-final rounds and a wild card round to compete for a spot in the final round.


Bracket 1


In Round 1 of Bracket 1, Cooper Cooke beat out Rocker Steiner for first in the bareback riding with a big 87.5 point ride on Womanizer (The Cervi Brothers) for $2,752. Rocker Steiner took first in the Round 2 with his 85.5 points on Enchanted Ernest (The Cervi Brothers) to net him $2,752. There was a tie for first in Round 3 between Rocker Steiner on Iron Flower (Beutler & Son Rodeo) and Luke Thrash on Camisole (Beutler & Son Rodeo) with both cowboys scoring 87.5 point rides to take home $2,477 each. Rocker Steiner, Cooper Cooke, Kade Sonnier, and Gavin French qualified to move on.


Stetson Jorgensen absolutely dominated in Bracket 1, taking first in Round 1 of the steer wrestling with his fast 3.9 seconds run for $2,752, first in Round 2 with his 4.0 seconds run for another $2,752, and first in the Third Round for his 4.1 seconds run for an additional $2,752. Stetson Jorgensen, Colin Fox, Denell Henderson, and Ryan Shuckburgh are moving on.


Nelson Wyatt & Jonathan Torres took first in the first round of the team roping with their 4.7 seconds run to net them $2,752 each. In Round 2, Clint Summers & Jade Corkill took first with 4.7 seconds to bring home $2,752 each. Jr. Dees & Landen Glenn took first in the third round with a 4.2 seconds run for $2,752 each. Kellan Johnson & Trent Vaught, Cory Kidd V & Carson Johnson, Nelson Wyatt & Jonathan Torres, and Wyatt Bray & Tyler Worley qualified to advance.


In Round 1 of the saddle bronc riding, Roper Kiesner took first with his 86 point ride on Trench Coat Char (Generations Pro Rodeo) for $2,752. Will Pollock took first in the second round with his strong 84 points on Forgetful Nelly (Calgary Stampede) to pocket $2,752. Shea Fournier took first in Round 3 with his 82.5 points on Frontier Acres (Calgary Stampede) for $2,752. Roper Kiesner, Luke Macza, Will Pollock, and Shea Fournier are progressing to the next round.


Brushton Minton took first in the first round of the tie-down roping with his 8.6 seconds run to win $2,752. Cutter Carpenter took first in Round 2 with his 8.0 seconds run to pocket $2,752. Monty Lewis took first in the third round with his 7.9 seconds run for $2,752. Brushton Minton, Tyson Durfey, Chantz Webster, and Monty Lewis are moving on.


Kirby Rawlinson took first in the first round of the breakaway roping with her 1.7 seconds run to pocket $2,752. Erin Johnson took first in Round 2 with her 2.2 seconds run for $2,752. Cadee Williams took first in Round 3 with her 2.0 seconds run to win $2,752. Sawyer Gilbert, Cadee Williams, Kirby Rawlinson, and Erin Johnson are all continuing to the next round.


Emily Beisel took first in Round 1 of the barrel racing with her fast 14.38 seconds run to earn $2,752. Jordan Driver took first in the second round with her 14.41 second run to bring home $2,752. Emily Beisel took first again in the third round for her 14.27 seconds run to take home an additional $2,752. Emily Beisel, Katie Jo Halbert, Jordan Driver, and Hailey Garrison Graham are advancing.


There was a tie in Round 1 of the bull riding between Mason Moody on Coolout (Generations Pro Rodeo) and Stetson Dell Wright on Buckskin Billy (Generations Pro Rodeo), with both riders scoring 85.5 points to take home $2,477 each. Cimarron Rucker took first in the second round with his 87 point ride on Redneck Lot Liza (Bailey Pro Rodeo) for $2,752. Cody McElroy took first in Round 3 with his 82.5 points on Homeboy (Beutler & Son Rodeo) for $3,119. Cody McElroy, Cimarron Rucker, Cullen Telfer, and Mason Moody qualified for the next round.



Bracket 2


There was a tie for first in the bareback riding in Round 1 between Kade Berry on Painted Smoke (Frontier Rodeo) and Wacey Schalla on Cafe Risque (Double J Rodeo Company), with both riders scoring matching 85.5 point rides to take home $2,477 each. Jason Wilson took first in the second round with his huge 88.5 points on Breaking News (Frontier Rodeo) for $2,752. Tilden Hooper took first in the third round with his phenomenal 87 point ride on Deputy Sue (Calgary Stampede) for $2,752. Mason Stuller, Wacey Schalla, Kade Berry, and Tilden Hooper qualified to move on.


Will Lummus took first in Round 1 with his 5.2 seconds run to earn $2,752. Dalton Massey took first in the second round with his 4.5 seconds run to net him $2,752. Riley Westhaver took first in the third round with his 4.7 seconds run to pocket $2,752. Will Lummus, Riley Westhaver, Dalton Massey, and Riley Duvall are advancing.


James Arviso & Rance Doyal took first in Round 1 with their 3.8 seconds run to take home $2,752 each. Garrett Tonozzi & Dustin Davis took first in the second round with his 4.6 seconds run for $2,752 each. James Arviso & Rance Doyal took first again in the third round with their 3.7 seconds run to net them $2,752 each. James Arviso & Rance Doyal, Derrick Begay & Colter Todd, Jaxon Hill & Jessen James, and Cody Carter & Will Woodfin are moving on.


In Round 1 of the tie-down roping, Riley Mason Webb took first with his 8.0 seconds run to pocket $2,752. Bryce Derrer took first in the second round with his 7.8 seconds run to earn $2,752. Cole Clemons took first in Round 3 with his 8.0 seconds run for $2,752. Haven Meged, Cole Clemons, Bo Pickett, and Bryce Derrer qualified to advance.


Josie Conner took first in Round 1 of the breakaway roping with her 2.6 seconds run for $3,119. Joey Williams took first in the second round with her 2.0 seconds run to pocket $2,752. There was a tie for first in Round 3 between Josie Conner and Jessi Everett, with both ladies stopping the clock at 1.9 seconds to take home $2,477 each. Josie Conner, Jill Tanner, Joey Williams, and Jessi Everett are advancing.


LaTricia Duke took first in the first round of the barrel racing with her 14.68 seconds run to earn $2,752. Brittany Pozzi Tonozzi took first in Round 2 with her quick 14.29 seconds run to win $2,752. McKenna Coronado beat out Duke for first in Round 3 with her 14.21 seconds run to net her $2,752. LaTricia Duke, Brittany Pozzi Tonozzi, Paige Jones, and McKenna Coronado are moving on.


In Round 1 of the bull riding, Colton Coffman took first with his 84 points on Eclipse (Bailey Pro Rodeo) for $2,752. Clayton Sellars took first in Round 2 with his 86.5 point ride on Party In The USA (Stockyards ProRodeo) for $4,128. Trey Benton III took first in the third round with a flawless 90 point ride on Insurrection (Stockyards ProRodeo) for $3,119. Trey Benton III, Clayton Sellars, Lane Vaughan, and T Parker qualified to move on.
