Round Three of The Wrangler NFR

It was a pen full of droppy buckers tonight that made for some fun big rides. Waylon Bourgeois had an incredible 88.75 point ride on Priefert's Dusty Rose (Pete Carr Pro Rodeo) to take first in the bareback riding. Sam Petersen had an aggressive 87.25 point ride on powerful bucker called Winning Rose (C5 Rodeo) for second. Rocker Steiner got bucked off Hooey Rocks (Championship Pro Rodeo) right at the 8 second mark but walked away with an 87 for third. Wacey Schalla had a textbook bronc ride for fourth with his 86.75 point ride on Trooper (Barnes PRCA Rodeo). Cooper Cooke looked a bit battered and was favoring his right post buck off as he walked out of the area.

In the bulldogging, Ty Erickson had an incredible run with hazer Matt Reeves for first with a fast 3.5 second run. Dakota Eldridge is not the only bulldogger competing while injured. Stetson Jorgensen is competing with a torn MCL; however that did not slow him down at all tonight as he placed second tying with Bridger Anderson for their 3.9 second runs. JD Struxness had great hustle and strength to get one down in 4.2 seconds for fouth. The Alabama Slamma Kyle Irwin took fifth with his 4.3 second run. Tucker Allen is still in the money again tonight tying for sixth with Tyler Waguespack for their 4.4 second runs.

The victory lap looked a bit like the grand entry for the team roping with three teams tying for first. Lightning Aguilera & Kaden Profili, Canadians Dawson Graham & Dillion Graham, and Kolton Schmidt & Jonathan Torres all stopped the clock at 3.8 seconds. Luke Brown & Trey Yates almost took first with a 3.6 second run but a single leg penalty knocked them down to ninth. Tyler Wade & Wesley Thorp are still snake bit.

Statler Wright was paired with a beauty of a bronc named Angel Cat (Smith Pro Rodeo) that he matched perfectly jump for jump for first with an 88.25 point ride. Dawson Hays took the re-ride on Peacemaker (Harper & Morgan Rodeo Co) to move up to second with an 87.75 point ride. Ryder Wright, Zac Dallas, and Kade Bruno all tied for third with their strong 87.5 point rides. Kade Bruno has continually demonstrated great upper body strength and control in all of his rides.

Tom Crouse got his hand hung up in his horse but was able to pull it free and complete his run. He did not appear to be injured leaving the arena. Riley Mason Webb was a man on a mission tonight and took first with his quick 7.0 second run Kincade Henry also had fast hands and was able to tie one down in 7.3 seconds for second. Ty Harris and Shad Mayfield were also quick on the draw, with Harris stopping the clock at 7.4 and Mayfield at 7.5 for third and fourth.

Halyn Lide was back on Pancakes again tonight and the team had a much smoother 13.88 run with no barrels knocked over. Although out of the money, Lide look far more confident tonight leaving the arena. Carlee Otera took first with her 13.54 second run on Regina. Emily Beisel on Chewy took second despite a slight slip around the second barrel with her 13.56 run. Chewy appeared to loose his footing in roughly the same spot as Brittany Pozzi Tonozzi's horse Sir did. Sir slid a bit more than Chewy but Pozzi Tonozzi was able to complete her run and Sir appeared to be uninjured leaving the area. Hailey Kinsel and Sister hit a barrel which knocked them back to 13th place.

The bulls were fired up and restless tonight. Jordan Spears was offered a re-reride but made a smart businessman's decision to decline it which ended up keeping him in the money taking sixth with his 77 point ride. Tristen Hutchings had a huge bucker of a bull but kept his feet moving for a phenomenal 90.5 point ride on Vitalix Smokin Hot (Cervi Championship Rodeo). Stetson Wright also had a powerful bull as well named Cookies and Cream (Burch Rodeo) but was able to hang on and ride it out for 88.5 points. JR Stratford rode Jim Dandy (New Frontier Rodeo) like the rent was due for 87.75 points and third. Despite fighting an illness, Hayes Weight was able to tough out an 86.75 point ride on Hell Ya Roscoe (Corey & Lange Rodeo) for fourth.
