Round 2 kept the excitement going...well for those who could see it. Once again the Cowboy Channel was plagued by streaming and technical issues leaving many paid subscribers in the dark. Rodeo fans were not happy that a "server error" prevented them them from watching the live feed on the app and unable to streaming the live broadcast online. Several fans took to the Cowboy Channel's social media accounts at the beginning of the perf to leave negative comments and ratings. Over halfway through the tie-down roping, the Cowboy Channel posted a link to their Youtube channel allowing fans to watch for free without a subscription. Once the link to the live feed for the Youtube was posted, many fan were left wondering why it took close to an hour and a half before an alternative option was offered.
For those lucky enough to be at the Thomas and Mack or able to watch the live broadcast from the state of the perf, it was one heck of a second round! Rocker Steiner was spectacular and scored an 88 point ride for first in the bareback riding on Silver Beaver (Bridwell Pro Rodeo). Tucker Allen tied with Ty Erickson for first in the steer wrestling with both bulldoggers clocking fast 3.9 second runs. 3.9 was the magic number for first in the team roping as well for Jake Smith & Douglas Rich. Aussie Damian Brennan had an incredible 90 point ride on R. Watson's Prairie Fire (The Cervi Brothers). The fans will definitely be unhappy they were unable to watch that one in real time due to the streaming issues. Stetson Wright was a close second with his 89 point ride on Bugsy (Muddy Creek Pro Rodeo).
It was a three-way tie for first tonight in the tie-down roping with Marty Yates, Shad Mayfield, and Dylan Hancock all stopping the clock at 7.8 seconds. Haven Meged was knocked out of the top spot by just .1 of a second with his 7.9 run.
Hailey Kinsel beat out Brittany Pozzi Tonozzi for first in the barrel racing by .05 seconds with her 13.53 second run. There was also a horse change tonight with Halyn Lide riding Smooth as Rico Suave aka "Pancakes" owned by Kappie Bryant. The new team looked smooth together despite a slight hiccup knocking over the second barrel.
Stetson Wright had one heck of a bull ride for first tonight with his 89.50 point ride on Orbit (Cowtown Rodeo). Although he placed 6th, Jesse Petri also had an incredible ride on Alberta Prime Devil's Advocate (Duane Kesler) . He was able to hang on and recover after a wild buck to ride it out for an 85.5 point ride. TJ Gray and Wacey Schalla also had strong rides. Gray scored 89 points on Guess Who (Championship Pro Rodeo) and Schalla had an 88.5 point ride on Jag Metal Domestic Violence (Stockyards Pro Rodeo).
Here's hoping for a smoother viewing experience tomorrow for Round Three with no website crashes or streaming issues.
