The bareback riding got the final round of The 2025 Wrangler National Finals Rodeo kicked off with a bang with the first three rides all in the upper 80's. Rocker Steiner took first with a flashy 90.75 point ride on Disco Party (Calgary Stampede). Kade Sonnier took second with his fantastic spurring for an 90.5 point ride on the Bareback Horse of the Year Lunatic Heaven (Brookman Rodeo). Wacy Schalla took third with an 89.85 point ride on Resistol's Secrets Out (Pete Carr Pro Rodeo). Sam Peterson was awarded the 2025 Wrangler NFR Bareback Average Champion and an emotional Rocker Steiner was awarded the 2025 World Champion in the Bareback.
Stetson Jorgensen took first in the steer wrestling with a fast 3.4 second run. Rowdy Parrot took second with his quick 3.8 second run and Will Lummus took third with his 3.9 second run. Tucker Allen may still be without his truck, which was stolen after his Round 2 win, but he's not leaving Vegas empty handed. Allen walked away tonight winning both the 2025 Wrangler NFR Steer Wrestling Average Champion and the 2025 World Champion in the Steer Wrestling.
Andrew Ward & Jake Long and Kaleb Driggers & Junior Nunes Noguierra tie for first in the team roping, with both teams stopping the clocks at 3.9 second. There was another tie for third between Derrick Begay & Colter Todd and Clint Summers & Jade Corkill for matching 4.2 second runs. What a heel shot by Corkill on that run. Ward & Long just dominated in the team roping and also were awarded the 2025 Wrangler NFR Team Roping Average Champion and the 2025 World Champion in the Team Roping.
It was total Wright takeover in the saddle bronc riding. Stetson Wright and Ryder Wright tied for first with matching 89.75 point rides. Stetson was paired with Shady Jacket (J Bar J) and Ryder was matched with Dandy Delight (Calgary Stampede). Statler Wright was awarded the 2025 Wrangler NFR Saddle Bronc Riding Average Champion and the 2025 World Champion in the saddle bronc riding. It was also the mighty Virgil's final time in the Thomas and Mack. Damian Brennan had the honor of being the last cowboy to ever ride this legendary bucking horse for 85.5 points. Enjoy your retirement, Virgil. You will be greatly missed next season!
Ty Harris came in hot tonight ready to win it and that he did with a quick 6.8 second run for first. Dylan Hancock took second with his 7.4 second run. Riley Webb took third with his 7.7 second run. Once again Shane Hanchey was left with a no score after missing his steer. This just wasn't The WNFR this veteran was hoping to have. Riley Webb was not only was awarded the 2025 Wrangler NFR Average Champion in the Tie-down Roping but also won the World Champion title for the third time, something that hasn't happened since Roy Copper, the Great Super Looper, who we sadly lost earlier this year.
Carlee Otera continued her hot streak tonight taking first in the barrel racing with her lightning fast 13.28 second run on Regina. Tricia Aldrige, who also has an incredible WNFR, placed second with her 13.43 second run on Adios. Lisa Lockhart took third for her 13.55 second run on Sasha. Julie Plourde and her horse Rocky won the 2025 Wrangler NFR Average Champion in the Barrel Racing and Kassie Mowry was awarded the 2025 World Champion in the Barrel Racing.
TJ Gray took first in the bull riding with his 88.5 point ride on Mr Priefert (Rosser Rodeo). The bull threw just about everything it could to buck Gray off in the last 4 seconds. Bryce Jensen took second with his 87.5 point ride on Tesla (New West Rodeo Productions). He tied with Hudson Bolton who had a very tough bull to ride by the name of Schott in the Dark (Sutton Rodeos). Impressive job by Cody Webster and the bullfighers getting to Bolton fast to keep him safe after the ride because that bull was ready to take a shot at Bolton. Ky Hamilton was back in the lineup tonight despite torn ligaments on his right knee. He was bucked off hard onto that injured leg a few seconds into the ride by Badlands (Silver Creek Pro Rodeo) and curled up in pain in the chutes until he was helped out of the arena by Justin Sports Med. That is one tough cowboy and we wish him fast healing. Stetson Wright was also unable to cover the 2025 Bull of the Year Magic Touch (Sankey Pro Rodeo & Phenom Genetics) but he did not walk away empty handed. Superman is back once again and took 2025 Wrangler NFR Average Champion in the Bull Riding and 2025 World Champion in the All-Around.
