Rodeo Houston Semifinals, Wild Card, Championship & Shootout

In the First Semifinal Round, Mason Clements took first in the bareback riding with a big 86.5 point ride on Tarzan (The Cervi Brothers) for $3,000. There was a tie for first in the steer wrestling between Stephen Culling and Ty Erickson with both bulldoggers stopping the clock at 4.6 seconds for $2,500 each. Tanner Tomlinson & Travis Graves took first in the team roping with their 5.5 second run for $3,000 each. Statler Wright took first in the saddle bronc riding with a phenomenal 88.5 point tide on Yesterday's Delivery (Calgary Stampede) for $3,000. There was another tie for first in the tie-down roping between Zack Jongbloed and Riley Mason Webb who both had 8.8 second runs for $2,500 each. Leslie Smalygo is still going white hot and took first in the barrel racing with a 14.61 second run for $3,000. Wacey Schalla took first in the bull riding an 85 points on Milkshake (Cervi Championship Rodeo) for $3,000.
In the Second Semifinal Round, Clay Jorgenson took first in the bareback with an 87 point ride on Fresno (Andrews Rodeo) for $3,000. Tyler Waguespack took first in the steer wrestling with his 4.4 second run for $3,000. Clay Smith & Coleby Payne took first in the team roping with their 4.8 second run for $3,000 each. Logan Hay took first in the saddle bronc riding with his 86 points on River’s Ghost (Pete Carr Pro Rodeo) for $3,000. Riley Pruitt took first in the tie-down roping with an 8.9 second run for $3,000. In the barrel racing, Kassie Mowry took first with her 14.65 second run for $3,000. And in the bull riding, Tristen Hutchings took first with an 86.5 points on Dual Citizen (Bailey Pro Rodeo) for $3,000.

In the First Wild Card Round, Mason Stuller took first with a smooth 86.5 point ride on Night Faded (Pete Carr Pro Rodeo) for $3,000. Tucker Allen took first in the steer wrestling with a quick 5.2 second run for $3,000. Lightning Aguilera & Patrick Smith took first in the team roping with a 4.9 second run for $3,000 each. Weston Patterson took first in the saddle bronc riding with an 84 points on Big Bang (Cervi Championship Rodeo) for $3,000. In the tie-down roping, Tuf Cooper took first with his 8.4 second run for $3,000. Hailey Kinsel took first in the barrel racing with her 14.65 second for $3,000. And in the bull riding, Jackson Ward too first for his 84 points on Pickle (Cervi Championship Rodeo) for $3,000.

In the Second Wild Card Round, Sam Petersen took first with a near perfect 89 point ride on Backroad (Pete Carr Pro Rodeo) for $3,000. There was a tie for first in the steer wrestling between Stetson Jorgenson and Dalton Massey who both had 4.1 second runs for $2,500 each. Coy Rahlmann & Cole Curry took first in the team roping with their 4.8 second run for $3,000 each. Ben Andersen took first in the saddle bronc riding with an 85.5 point ride on Crockett (Calgary Stampede) for $3,000. In the tie-down roping, Cory Solomon took first with an 8.3 second run for $3,000. Michelle Alley took first in the barrel racing with her14.43 second run for $3,000. Hayes Weight took first in the bull riding with an 87.5 point ride on Whiskey River (Pete Carr Pro Rodeo) for $3,000.
In the Championship Round, Dean Thompson took first in the bareback riding with an 89 point ride on Disco Party (Pete Carr Pro Rodeo). Dalton Massey took first in the steer wrestling with a 4.2 second run. Tanner Tomlinson & Travis Graves took first in the team roping with their 4.9 second run. Ryder Wright took first in the saddle bronc riding with a big 87.5 point ride on Womanizer (Cervi Championship Rodeo). Riley Mason Webb took first in the tie-down roping with his 8.2 second run. Hailey Kinsel is still going strong and took first with her 14.57 second run. And in the bull riding, Tristen Hutchings took first with an 86.5 points on Centerfold (Cervi Championship Rodeo).
The Championship Shootout Round is the goal for all the rodeo athletes that come to compete at Rodeo Houston. All the first place winners of this round get to walk away with a hefty check for $65,000, second place winner takes home $30,000, third $20,000, and fourth place $10,000. Combined with the winnings from the Super Series, Semifinal, and Wild Card placing in the top three gives these athletes a huge advantage for the season in making an NFR run.

In the bareback riding, Rocker Steiner took first with near perfect 91 point ride on Agent Lynx (Calgary Stampede) for $65,000. Bradlee Miller took second with a big 89.5 ride on Blasting Sand (Calgary Stampede) for $30,000. Taking third was Sam Petersen with an 85.5 on Wild Thang (The Cervi Brothers) for $20,000; 4. Dean Thompson, 83, $10,000.
In the steer wrestling, Tucker Allen came determined to win it and did just that with a fast 4.2 second run for $65,000. Holden Myers took second with a 5.2 second run for $30,000, third went to Dalton Massey for his15.0 run for $20,000, and Ty Erickson took fourth with a 25.3 second run for $10,000.
Derrick Begay & Colter Todd took first with their 5.8 second run for the big $65,000 payout. Tanner Tomlinson& Travis Graves took second with a 15.1 run for $30,000. Tyler Wade & Wesley Thorp took third with a 16.2 second run for $20,000. And Erich Rogers & Kollin VonAhn had a no time but in the championship no one walks away empty handed so the pair left with $10,000.
First in the saddle bronc riding after a ride off between Wright and Wanchuk went to to Ryder Wright for his 88 point ride on Mortician (Cervi Championship Rodeo). Kolby Wanchuk took second with an 81.5 points on Forked Up (Cervi Championship Rodeo). Third went to Chase Brooks for his 86 point ride on R. Watson's Ed B (The Cervi Brothers) for $20,000. And fourth went to Weston Patterson for his 85 points on Yipee Kibitz (Calgary Stampede) for $10,000.
Riley Mason Webb took first in the tie-down roping with his 7.6 seconds run for $65,000. Second went to Kincade Henry for his 8.1 to earn $30,000. Zack Jongbloed took third with his 8.4 run for $20,000. And Shane Hanchey took fourth with a 19.9 run for $10,000.

Kassie Mowry took first with her 14.5 second run around the barrels for $65,000. Hailey Kinsel, who has consistently been strong this rodeo took second with her 14.52 for $30,000. Third went to Brittany Pozzi Tonozzi for her 14.59 to take home $20,000. Fourth went to Acey Pinkston, 14.79 for $10,000.
The bulls did not make this round easy on the athletes. Only Tristen Hutchings was able to make a qualified ride with a huge 91 points on Dioaled in Vitalix (Cervi Championship Rodeo) for $65,000. Wacey Schalla, Mason Moody and Stetson Wright all had no scores but still go to take home $20,000 each for making it to the Championship Shootout Round.
