Cedar Gap Wealth X-Treme Bulldogging Qualifier and Finals


Stetson Jorgensen with a 4.4 second run in Rd 3 to earn the title of X-Treme Bulldogging Champion

Over 160 steer wrestlers from around the US and Canada made their way to The X-Treme Bulldogging Qualifier and Jackpot, put on by Cedar Gap Wealth, in Abilene, Texas March 27-29th to compete for a piece of the $100k in payout. The qualifier was held March 27th at the Taylor Telecom Arena and featured two long rounds followed by a short. Although the top competitors had already been selected for the finals, the qualifier determined who the last spots would go to. Bulldogger Stephen Mullin and hazer Quinn Cambell walked away as the qualifier champion for 14.5 seconds on three head and a check for $4,318. The following competitors also qualified to advance to the finals: Nathan Duvall, Coy Johnson, Teel Sikes, Bray Armes, Talon Roseland, Cimarron Thompson, and Owen Schauer.


On the 28th there was an autograph signing, whiskey tasting, and live radio broadcast along with a benefit calcutta and auction.


The following day the finals were held with forty bulldoggers battled it out in three long rounds and a short to see who would walk away with the title of X-Treme Bulldogging Champion. Dalton Massey took first in the first round with his 3.4 seconds run to earn $4,642. Colin Fox took first in the second round with his 3.9 seconds run to net him $4,642. After missing his steer in Round Two, Tyke Kipp was out for redemption and got it by taking first in Round Three with his 3.7 seconds run for $4,642. Tyler Waguespack took first in the final round with his 4.1 seconds run to pocket $2,300. In the end, it was Stetson Jorgensen, who sealed the deal with his 4.4 second run in the final round and walked away as the X-Treme Bulldogging Champion with 18.5 seconds on four head to take home $9,285.
