Rodeo at the Ranch

A new rodeo kicked off this year at the NRS Ranch Arena in Decatur Texas June 4-5. Kash Loyd took first in the bareback with his 82 points on No. 105 (New West Rodeo Productions) to earn him a check for $1,393. Walt Arnold took first in the bulldogging with his 4.6 seconds run for $1,077. The bulldoggers did not have an easy go at the rodeo and Friday there were very few qualified runs with it looking more like the big boys of rodeo were facing an elimination pen of steers. Tyler Wade & Paul Eaves took first in the team roping with their 4.2 seconds run to take home $1,533 each. Carson Neal took first in the saddle bronc riding with his 80 point ride on Blue Strips (TK Pro Rodeo) for $1,784. Chantz Webster took first in the tie-down roping with his 7.9 seconds run to pocket $1,363. Kaycee Killingsworth was the fastest around the cans with her 14.55 seconds run to bring home $1,357. Brooke Henry took first in the breakaway roping with her 2.6 seconds run to net her $1,686. The bulls also decided not to play nice and there were only two riders able to cover for the full 8. T Parker took first of the two with his 82 point ride on Boom Town (Mo Betta Rodeo) for $2,919.

This year's payoff was $43,656. TK Pro Rodeo provided the stock along with sub-contractors Mo Betta Rodeo, Wild Side Rodeo, and New West Rodeo Productions. Levi Hapney and Ketch Weaver were the pickup men. Weaver also performed his trick roping act to keep the crowd entertained along with funny man Backflip Johnny Dudley. And Cody Webster and Payden Yeiter kept the bull riders safe.
