PBR Unleash The Beast- Boston, MA

The bull riders took over TD Garden January 2nd and 3rd as PBR Unleash The Beast rolled into Boston, Massachusetts. Daylon Swearingen dominated in Round One with an 87.70 point ride on Hector (LH Cattle/Buentello Bucking Bulls) on the eleventh out of the night. “I love coming to Boston; love coming to the east coast where I’m from," Swearington said on his Round One Victory.

 

Marco Rizzo took second of the night with his 87.55 point ride on Project X (LH Cattle Co/ Knightmare Bull Co). Third place went to Bob Mitchell for his 87.20 point ride on Ice Tray (Universal Pro Rodeo/Rachel & Dustin Powell). Mitchell currently is sitting in 10th in the standings. Claudio Montanha Jr. took fourth with his 87.10 points on Mr. Jimmy (Universal Pro Rodeo/Rachel & Dustin Powell).  And fifth place went to the young bull riding phenom John Crimber, who rode Wild Card (Blake Sharp/UB Bucking Company) for 86.95 points.

In Round Two, Clay Guiton took first with an incredible 88.7 point ride on Mo Money (MD Bucking Bulls). Guiton almost went a perfect 3-3 by was ruled as touching the bull at 6.7 second which bumped him to a fifth place finish.

Marco Rizzo second in Round Two with his 88.25 point ride on Let Him Fly (WL Bucking Bulls/LH Cattle Co). Rizzo also split second/third overall after being bucked off in the Championship Round by Bex Red Eye in 2.26 seconds (Blake Sharp/Hanks). He leaves Boston with 27.5 UTB points in front of No. 2 Fielder.

 

Thiago Salgado tied with Rizzo in Round Two with an 88.25 on I'll Make Ya Famous (K-C Bucking Bulls/Spark-lin Acres). Fourth place went to Andrew Alvidrez for his 87.90 point ride on El Chapo (Lucky Blue Crab/Hookin' W Ranch). And fifth place went to Luciano De Castro for his 87.55 point ride on Nobody (Snyder Family/Hookin' W Ranch).


In the Championship Round, only the Aussie Brady Fielder was able to cover his bull for a spectacular 91.20 point ride on Eyes On Me (Blake Sharp/Hanks), the bull he selected with the third pick in the short round draft. In Round One, Fielder scored an 86.8 point ride on Uptown Funk (Universal Pro Rodeo/Rachel & Dustin Powell). He returned Saturday night determined to win it and that he did with his 91.20 point ride in the Championship Round combined with his 87.15 points on Cliff Hanger (Blake Sharp/UB Bucking Company) in Round Two. “This atmosphere just pumps us up,” Fielder commented on the energy from the TD Garden crowd. “Now we head toward New York City. I’m going to take it step by step, take care of what’s in front of me.”

John Crimber placed third and Claudio Montanha Jr. took fourth to round out the leaderboard. Dalton Kasel left Boston dropping to the No. 3 in the standings after going 0-2.

 

Moving onto the bovine athletes, Magic Potion again lived up to his name and unseated Bob Mitchell in 3.13 seconds in the Championship Round. This bulls is a force to be reckoned with and now has had 56 consecutive premier series buck offs, continuing to extend the all-time PBR record. Eyes One Me was crowned the Bull of the Event for his 44.70 point bull score for his ride with Fielder.
