Oldstoberfest kicked off September 12-13th at the Olds Regional Exhibition Grounds in Olds, Alberta. Orin Larsen took first in the bareback riding for his 81.5 point ride on Young Moon (C5 Rodeo) for $1,608. There was a tie for first in the steer wrestling between Tate Beierbach and Dalton Massey, with both bulldoggers stopping the clock at 4.0 seconds to take home $2,173 each. Brett Buss & Joey Romo II took first in the team roping for their 5.0 second run to net them $2,443 each. Lucas Macza took first in the saddle bronc riding with his big 86 points on Kitty Whistle (C5 Rodeo) for $1,766. Shane Smith took first in the tie-down roping for his 9.0 second run to earn $2,415. Karlie Cowie took first in the barrel racing with her 17.20 second run to pocket $3,140.  Jade Nelson took first in the breakaway roping for her fast 2.3 second run to take home $1,913. Chanse Switzer took first in the bull riding for his 83 points on Thunderclap (C5 Rodeo) for $2,520. C5 Rodeo Co provided the stock. Owen Patton and Travis Jordan were the pickup men and Tanner Byrne and Logan Kadlec were the bullfighters.
