The California circuit rodeos are going strong with Oakdale Saddle Club Rodeo taking place April 12-13th. This northern California city is dubbed the "Cowboy Capitol of the World" for a reason and is a favorite rodeo for both fans and athletes. Speaking of cowboys, Paden Bray took all-around cowboy for tie-down roping and team roping for a $5,740 check. In the tie-down roping he tied for second in the first round with Monty Lewis with both stopping the clock at 9.9 second run to earn $1,346 each. Cody Stewart beat out Bray and Lewis to take first with his 9.0 second run for $1,674 each. In the second round, Tom Simpson took first with his 9.0 second run for a $1,674 check and first in the average for 21.4 seconds on two head to take home another $2,511.
In the team roping, Paden took first in the first round paired with header Wyatt Paden with a 6.2 second run for a $2,085 check. The pair also placed eighth in the second round for their 8.7 run for $181, and first in the average for 14.9 seconds on two head to take home and additional $3,127. First in the second round of the team roping went to Hayes Smith & Justin Davis for their 5.5 second run netting them $2,085 each.
In the first round of the steer wrestling, Denell Henderson took first with his fast 5.3 second run to win $1,394 and first in the average for 11.2 seconds on two head to take home an additional $2,091. In the second round, Payden McIntyre took first with a 4.2 second run for $1,394.
In the roughstock events, Myles Carlson took first in the bareback riding with his 86.5 points on Tigers Blood (Bridwell Pro Rodeos) for a $2,699 check. Kole Ashbacher took first in the saddle bronc riding with an 85 points on Wounded Knee (Four Star Rodeo) for a $2,826 check. Colten Fritzlan took first in the bull riding with an 85.5 point ride on Redneck (Four Star Rodeo) to earn $3,252.
In the women's events, Tricia Aldridge took first with her speedy 17.28 second run for a $3,188 check. Suzanne Williams took first in the breakaway roping with a quick 2.6 second run to take home $3,017.
Four Star Rodeo provided the stock along with subcontractors Steve Simons and Bridwell Pro Rodeos. Dave Murdoch, Josh Daries and Austin Jones kept the bull riders safe and Rick Moffatt, Jared Groene and Jeffrey Shearer were the pickup men.
