Saturday’s rodeos at the National Western Stock Show featured three rounds of the top athletes from each of the eight brackets competing for a spot in the finals.10x world champion Stetson Wright lived up to his nickname Superman with his 80.5 point saddle bronc ride to tie for fourth/fifth place in Semi-Final 1 and the highest marked bull ride in Semi-Final 3 with his 83 point ride on Bar Fly (Cervi Championship Rodeo).


In Semi-Final 1, there was a tie for first in the bareback riding between R.C. Landingham on Bandana Babe (Cervi Championship Rodeo) and Daxtyn Feild on Storm Warning (Cervi Championship Rodeo), with both riders scoring 83 points to pocket $3,039 each. Ty Bauerle took first in the steer wrestling with his 4.0 seconds run to earn $3,816. Kolton Schmidt & Chase Tryan took first in the team roping with their 4.2 seconds run to take home $3,816 each. Gus Gaillard took first in the saddle bronc riding with his 83 point ride on Hubba Bubba (Cervi Championship Rodeo) for $3,501. Dylan Hancock took first in the tie-down roping with an 8.1 second run to net him $3,802. Heidi Gunderson took first in the barrel racing with her 15.01 second run to earn $3,695. Kobie Olson took first in the bull riding with a huge 88 point ride on Vitalix Bigfoot (Cervi Championship Rodeo) for $3,483.


In Semi-Final 2, there was another tie for first in the bareback riding between Gauge McBride on Canyon Secrets (The Cervi Brothers) and Cole Franks on Blue Ridge Babe (Cervi Championship Rodeo) with both cowboys scoring 85 points for $3,039 each. Mike McGinn took first in the steer wrestling with his 4.0 seconds run to earn $3,816. Hagen Peterson & Dylin Ahlstrom took first in the team roping with their 4.7 seconds run to take home $3,816 each. Kade Bruno took first in the saddle bronc riding with his 83 point ride on Enchanted Ernest (The Cervi Brothers) for $3,502. Quade Hiatt took first in the tie-down roping with his 7.3 seconds run for $3,802. Makenzie Mayes took first in the barrel racing with her 14.96 seconds run to earn $3,695. Koby Jacobson took first in the bull riding with an 86.5 point ride on Sugar Coated (Cervi Championship Rodeo) for $3,583.


In Semi-Final 3, Wacey Schalla took first with his 86.5 point ride on Organic Outlaw (Cervi Championship Rodeo) for $3,473. Tyke Kipp took first in the steer wrestling with his 3.8 seconds run to earn $3,816. Tanner Tomlinson & Coleby Payne took first in the team roping with their 4.6 seconds run to take home $3,816 each. Ryder Sanford took first in the saddle bronc riding with an 83.5 point ride on She’s With Randy (The Cervi Brothers) for $3,501. There was a tie for first in the tie-down roping between Blane Cox and Tate Talkington, with both ropers clocking 8.2 seconds run to bring home $3,327 each. Summer Kosel took first in the barrel racing with her 15.04 seconds run to earn $3,695. Stetson Wright took first in the bull riding with his 83 points on Bar Fly (Cervi Championship Rodeo) for $4,789.

The 120th NWSS came to a close Sunday Jan 25th with the champions crowed in each event. Cooper Filipek took first in the bareback riding with his big 85.5 point ride on The Cervi Brothers’ R. Watson’s Mamo (The Cervi Brothers) for $6,512. Mike McGinn took first in the steer wrestling with his 3.6 seconds run to earn $5,486. Tanner Tomlinson & Coleby Payne took first in the team roping with their white hot 3.5 second run to take home $5,486 each. Parker Fleet took first in the saddle bronc riding with a huge 89.5 points on R. Watson Prairie Fire (Cervi Championship Rodeo) for $6,565. Dylan Hancock took first in the tie-down roping with his 7.1 second run to pocket $5,466. Heidi Gunderson took first in the barrel racing with her 14.91 seconds run to net her $5,312. And Stetson Wright got it down the Wright way with a 90 point ride on Ringling Road (Vitalix) for $6,530. This year the NWSS had a total payout of $735,103.
