Bracket One Rounds 1 & 2

Colorado native turned Stephenville, Texas cowboy Shay Dixon Carrol is off to a strong start with a 4.5 second run in the team roping in Bracket One Round One. He is paired with Denton Dunning from Surprise, Arizona. Carrol is a third-generation rodeo competitor with a rich family history in rodeo. His grandfather, Truett Carroll, and father, Dick Carroll, competed at the National Western Stock Show and his aunt, Almabeth Carroll, first won a title in Colorado as a rodeo queen before earning the Miss Rodeo America crown. He is not the only third generation cowboy continuing the family's rodeo legacy. Daxtyn Feild from Roosevelt, Utah. Daxtyn Field took first with his 82 point ride on Deuce Biglow (The Cervi Brothers). He'll need one more high score on Friday to advance to the semi-finals. If his last name sounds familiar it's because he is Kaycee Field's nephew and the grandson of Lewis Feild, who has won multiple saddle bronc and bareback riding titles at the NWSS as well as the coveted world championship gold buckle. Landris White from Angleton, Texas, took first in the steer wrestling with his 3.7 seconds run. And in the bull riding, Rawley Johnson of Swan Valley, Idaho took first with his 84 points on Mr. Nasty (Generations Pro Rodeo).

In Round Two, Stetson Wright stayed strong and was top of the leaderboard again with his 86 point ride on Big Bang (Cervi Brothers’ Big Bang). Stetson will return to Denver this Thursday to compete in Bracket 7 in bull riding with the possibility of advancing to the semi-finals in both events.
