The La Fiesta De Los Vaqueros - The Tucson Rodeo kicked off Feb 21st - March 4th in Tucson, Arizona. There was a tie for all-around cowboy between Paden Bray, who competed in the tie-down roping and team roping, and Ketch Kelton, who competed in the tie-down roping and team roping, with each cowboy taking home $7,674 each.
In the bareback riding, there was a tie for first between Evan Betony on Smoke Bomb (Beutler & Son Rodeo) and Toby Deudney on Par-te-time (Diamond G Rodeo) with both riders scoring matching 85.5 points rides to pocket $3,681 each. Jess Pope took first in the finals with a huge 89.5 point ride on Rylee's Raisin' Cain (Andrews Rodeo) for $1,650, and first in the average for 174 points on two head to take home an additional $4,167.
There was another tie for first in the first round of the steer wrestling between Harley Cole and Eli Lord, with both bulldoggers stopping the clock at 4.4 seconds to net them $3,846 each. Stetson Jorgensen took first in the final round with his 4.2 seconds run to earn $1,479, and first in the average for 8.9 seconds on two head for an additional $6,171.
Jaxson Tucker & Cesar De La Cruz took first in the first round of the team roping with their quick 4.5 seconds run to bring home $4,690 each. There was a tie for first in the final round between Brye Crites & Ross Ashford and Tee McLeod & Trey Yates, with both teams stopping the clock at 5.3 seconds to net them $1,597 each. Brye Crites & Ross Ashford took first in the average for 9.9 seconds on two head for $7,034 each.
Mitchell Story took first in the first round of the saddle bronc riding with a beauty of an 88.5 point ride on Blood Bond (Beutler & Son Rodeo) for $4,157. Kade Bruno took first in the finals with his strong 87 point ride on Hammerstone (Beutler & Son Rodeo) for $1,650. There was a tie for first in the average Logan Hay and Tanner Butner, with both riders having 171.5 points on two head to net them $3,672 each.
Brayden Roe took first in the first round of the tie-down roping with his 9.4 seconds run to earn $4,052. Quade Hiatt took first in the second round with his 9.6 seconds run to win $4,052. Shane Hanchey took first in the finals with his 10.1 seconds run to pocket $1,392 and first in the finals for 32.0 seconds on three head for an additional $6,078.
In the first round of the barrel racing, Austyn Tobey took first with her 17.25 seconds run to take home $4,495. Emily Beisel took first in the finals with her 17.29 seconds run to pocket $1,903, and first in the average for 34.55 seconds on two head for an additioal $4,495.
Dawson Branton took first in the first round of the bull riding with his 85.5 point ride on Ice Age (Beutler & Son Rodeo) for $4,411, first in the finals for his huge 88 point ride on Ice Shot (Beutler & Son Rodeo) for another $2,050, and first in the average for 173.5 points on two head for an additional $4,411.
The total payout this year was $386,838. Beutler & Son Rodeo provided the stock along with sub-contractors Diamond G Rodeo, Powder River Rodeo, Salt River Rodeo, and Andrews Rodeo. Dalton Barnes, Matt Scott, and Fathead Wright were the pickup men and Nathan Harp and Wacey Munsell provided the cowboy protection.
