It's not just the weather that's heating up this week in Texas. It's getting down to the wire on who will advance to the finals and a shot at the FWSSR champion title. WNFR veteran Orin Larsen came ready to punch his ticket to the finals and start his season off strong. His eyes were definitely on the prize money in the Wild Card round with his 87 point ride on Forgetfull Nelly (Calgary Stampede) for first and a check for $2,000. Nick Pelke is advancing with him. Stetson Jorgensen took first in the steer wrestling with his quick 4.1 seconds run to move on with Boyd Sawyer. Rylee George took first in the breakaway roping with her fast 1.8 seconds run to earn $2,000. She will advance on with Jill Tanner. Ben Anderson took first in the saddle bronc riding with an 87 point ride on Yesterday’s Delivery (Calgary Stampede) for $2,000 and will go to finals with Logan Hay. Marty Yates took first in the
team roping with his 7.5 seconds run to pocket $2,000 and secure his spot in the finals with Blane Cox. Clay Tryan & Whip Peterson took first in the team roping with their 4.0 second run to take home $2,000 each and progress to the finals with Jr. Dees & Landen Glenn. Clay's son, Tyler Tryan, made it to the semi-finals paired with heeler Levi Lord. Will it be a battle of the Tryans in finals? Katelyn Scott took first in the barrel racing with her 16.22 seconds run to earn $2,000 and move to finals with Acey Pinkston. And in the bull riding, Colton Coffman took first with his 85 point ride on James Brown (Rafter G Rodeo) to earn his spot in the finals with Riley Shippy.
