The first round of the semi-finals kicked off Thursday night with contestants batting it out for a coveted spot in the finals. The Megeds, who are expecting their first child, are making their last rodeo together as a couple together this season count, with both taking first in their events to advance to the finals together. Shelby Boijoli-Meged took first in the breakaway roping with her quick 2.2 seconds run to net her $4,000, and Haven Meged tied with Blane Cox to pocket $3,500. Shelby will be advancing to the finals along with Rylee George, Martha Angelone, and Shalee King. Haven will be joined in the finals by Blane Cox, Beau Cooper, and Zack Jongbloed. Jacob Lees tied for first in the bareback riding on Prairie Rose (Sankey Pro Rodeo & Phenom Genetics) with Sam Peterson on Mustard (Sankey Pro Rodeo & Phenom Genetics) and Tilden Hooper on Bucking Knight (Calgary Stampede), with all three riders scoring 87 points to net them $3,000 each and a spot in the finals. They will be joined by Wacey Schalla. Justin Shaffer took first in the steer wrestling with his fast 3.8 seconds run to earn $4,000 and a spot in the finals. Garrett Oates, Trisyn Kalawaia, and Mason Couch are also advancing. Stetson Wright got it done the Wright way with a huge 89.5 point ride for first on In the Lu ( J Bar J Pro Rodeo) to pocket $4,000 and move onto the finals. He will be joined by

Aussies Darcy Radel and Damian Brennan, and his brother Ryder Wright. We are going to see a battle of the Tryans as Tyler Tryan & Levi Lord punched their ticket to the finals with their 4.5 seconds run for first and $4,000 each. They will be joined by Corben Culley & Trent Vaught, Dawson & Dillon Graham, and Brady Tryan, & Paden Bray. Acey Pinkston took first in the barrel racing with her 16.30 seconds run for $4,000 and a spot in the finals. Tayla Moeykens, Makenna Shook, and Kassie Mowry will join her. Mowry advanced on tiebreaker. Hayden Welsh was the only rider to successfully make it to the 8 second mark with his impressive 90.5 point ride on Door Dash (Cowtown Rodeo) for a big $10,000 check. He will move onto the finals with Qynn Andersen, Mason Moody, and Braxton Whitsell.
