Bracket 3, Round 1


Bracket 3, Round 1 kicked off with a tie for first in the bareback between Richmond Champion on Hannah Banana (Dakota Rodeo) and Wacey Schalla on Native Lights (Dakota Rodeo) with both riders scoring 88 point to take home $2,200. Mason Couch took first in the steer wrestling with his quick 3.4 seconds run to pocket $2,500. Emilee Charlesworth took first in the breakaway roping with her 2.6 seconds run to earn $2,542. The competition was tight in the team roping but the last team out, Nelson Wyatt & Jonathan Torres, not only took first but also broke the arena record with their lightning fast 3.3 seconds run to bring home $2,518 each. Jacobs Crawley took first in the saddle bronc riding with his 86 point ride on Smarty Pants (Dakota Rodeo) for $2,500. Tom Crouse took first in the tie-down roping with his 9.9 second run to win $2,518. Shelley Morgan took first in the barrel racing with her 16.41 run for a $2,500 check. And Stran Smith was the only bull rider to make a qualified ride with his 78 points on Jokers Alibi (Andrews Rodeo) for $7,400.


Round 2

Wacey Schalla went 2 for 2 in Bracket 3 taking first again in Round Two with 87 points on Marie Leveau (United Pro Rodeo) for $2,500. He and Richmond Champion will be moving onto the semi-finals, and the Wild Card spot went to R.C. Landingham. There was a tie for first in the steer wrestling between Riley Westhaver and Dane Haas, with both bulldoggers stopping the clock at 4.1 seconds to net them $2,218 each. Westhaver will be joined in the semi-finals by Mason Couch, and Haas earned the Wild Chard slot. There was another tie for first in the breakaway roping between Shalee King and TiAda Gray, with both ladies having 2.5 seconds runs to earn $2,275 each. King will move onto the semi-finals along with Emilee Charlesworth, and Gray will advance to the Wild Card Round. Waitley Sharon took first in the saddle bronc riding with his big 88 points on Jazzbo Depew (Championship Pro Rodeo) for $2,542. He and Statler Wright will progress to the semi-finals round, and the Wild Card spot went to Jacobs Crawley. Beau Cooper took first in the tie-down roping with his quick 8.6 seconds run for $2,518. He will join Tom Crouse in the semi-finals, and the Wild Card spot went to Cle Clemons. Dustin Equsquiza & JC Flake took first in the team roping with their 5.1 seconds run to take home $3,000 each and earn their spot in the semi-finals. They will be joined by Riley Kittle & Cole Curry and Jr. Dees & Landen Glenn secured a spot in the Wild Card Round. McKenna Coronado took first in the barrel racing with her 16.29 seconds run to pocket $2,500. She will progress to the semi-finals with Summer Kosel, and Shelley Morgan got the Wild Card spot. There was a tie for first in the bull riding between Stran Smith on Debo (United Pro Rodeo) and Lane Vaughan on Ray Ban (United Pro Rodeo) with both cowboys scoring 85 points rides to take home $2,625 each and secure their places in the semi-finals. Jesse Petri will move onto the Wild Card Round.


Bracket 4, Round One

It looks like this could be the year for Rusty Wright. Rusty has struggled with injuries and adversity since his 2020 WNFR qualification. After qualifying 5x, Rusty had to sit sidelines and cheer on his brothers for the last several years. It looks like that is going to change this year with Rusty starting his rodeo season off white hot with a beauty of a 91 point ride on Rebel Yell (Championship Pro Rodeo) in Round 1 to pick up $2,542. Nick Pelke is also hoping to qualify for the WNFR this year with another FWSSR title win. He took first in the bareback riding with his 87.5 points on Ranch and Crow (Championship Pro Rodeo) for $2,542. Bridger Anderson took first in the steer wrestling with his 3.6 seconds run to earn $2,542. Cadee Williams took first in the breakaway roping with her 2.0 seconds run to pocket $2,542. There was a tie for first in the tie-down roping between Hagen Meged and Michael Otero with both ropers stopping the clock at 8.8 seconds to bring home $2,242 each. James Arviso and Rance Doyal took first in the team roping with their 3.9 seconds run for $2,525 each. Carlee Otero took first in the barrel racing with her 16.26 run to earn $2,500. Colorado kid Mackey took first as one of only two bull riders to successfully make the full 8 seconds with his 88 point ride on Tickle My Fancy (Championship Pro Rodeo) for a $4,000 check.


Round Two

Jess Pope took first in the bareback riding with his strong 85.5 point ride on Indecent Exposure (Stace Smith Pro Rodeo) for $2,518 and punch his ticket to the semi-finals with Tristan Hansen. The Wild Card spot went to Nick Pelke. Justin Shaffer took first in the steer wrestling with his 3.9 second run to earn $2,500. He and Bridger Anderson will advance to the semi-finals, and Kyle Irwin secured the Wild Card spot. Samantha Fulton took first in the breakaway roping with her 2.0 seconds run to pocket $2,518. Kinlie Brennise and Cadee Williams moved onto the semi-finals round, and the Wild Card spot went to Samantha Fulton. Rusty Wright went 2 for 2 to secure his spot in the semi-finals with his 88 points on Blue Chip (Calgary Stampede) for $2,575. Chase Brooks will join him in the semi-finals and Leon Fountain will move onto the Wild Card round. Cory Solomon took first in the tie-down roping with his 8.2 seconds run to pocket $2,518. He and Haven Meged will advance onto the semi-finals, and Michael Otero secured the Wild Card spot. Jake Orman & Caleb Green took first in the team roping with their 6.0 seconds run to take home $2,635 each and earn the Wild Card spot. Arviso & Doyal and Duty & Smith will progress onto the semi-finals. Carlee Otero also went 2 for 2 with round wins to take first in Round Two with her 16.08 second run to earn $2,500 and a spot in the semi-final. Makenna Shook also will be moving onto the semi-finals, and Acey Pinkston is advancing to the Wild Card round. Tristan Mize took first in the bull riding with his 84 point ride on Inflation (Pickett Pro Rodeo) for $3,000 and will go to the Wild Card round. Luke Mackey and Dustin Boquet are headed to the semi-finals.
