East Texas State Fair Rodeo

The East Texas State Fair Rodeo was held September 19-21st at the East Texas State Fair in Tyler, Texas.  Payton Lackey took first in the bareback riding with a big 86 point ride on Scorching Fire (Pickett Pro Rodeo Co) for $1,839. Laramie Warren took first in the steer wrestling with his 3.6 second run to earn $2,443. Walker Smith & Will Smith took first in the team roping with their 4.3 second run to bring home $1,729 each. There was a tie for first in the saddle bronc riding between Roper Kiesner on Watch The Night (Pickett Pro Rodeo Co) and Caleb Miller on Time Capped (Pickett Pro Rodeo Co) with both riders scoring 84 points to net them $1,903 each. Mason Stueve took first in the tie-down roping with his 8.1 second run to earn $2,453. Emily Askew took first in the barrel racing with her quick 14.78 second run to pocket $2,175. There was a three-way tie for first int eh breakaway roping between Madison Outhier, Shayla Smith, and Jill Tanner, with all the ladies clocking 2.0 second runs to take home $2,956 each.  Trevor Reiste took first in the bull riding with his 86.5 point ride on Fake Friend (Pickett Pro Rodeo Co) for $2,626. Pickett Pro Rodeo Co. and J Bar J provided the stock. Paul Peterson and Jeremy Willis were the pickup men and Ryder Rich and Ethan Pittman provided the cowboy protection.
