The Deadwood Days Of '76 Rodeo kicked off July 21-25 in Deadwood, South Dakota. In the roughstock events, Donny Proffit took first in the bareback riding with his big 87.5 point ride on Hell's Fire (Burch Rodeo) for $6,310. There was a tie for first in the saddle bronc riding between Jake Finlay on Candy Coated (Bailey Pro Rodeo) and Dawson Hay on Bordertown (Bailey Pro Rodeo), with both riders scoring matching 85 points rides to net them $5,455 each. Dustin Boquet took first in the bull riding with a huge 89.5 points on Cookies And Crea (Burch Rodeo) for $6,286.

There was a tie for first in the first round of the steer wrestling between Bridger Anderson and Jesse Brown, with both bulldoggers stopping the clock at 3.9 seconds to bring home $2,314 each. There was also a tie in the second round between Gus Franzen and Austin Hurlburt, with both clocking 3.8 seconds run for $2,314 each. First in the average went to Logan Kenline for 8.7 seconds on two head to pocket $3,713.

J7 Bland & Truman Magnus took first in the first round of the team roping with their 4.6 seconds run to take home $2,934 each. Lightning Aguilera & Kaden Profili took first in the second round with their 4.1 seconds run to net them $2,934 each. First in the average went to Ketch Kelton & Denton Dunning for 9.9 seconds on two head for $4,401 each.

Haven Meged took first in the first round of the tie-down roping with his 7.7 seconds run to earn $3,292. Shad Mayfield took first in the second round with his 7.4 seconds run to pocket $3,292. Shane Hanchey took first in the average for 15.6 seconds on two head to take home $4,939.

In the women's events, Emily Beisel took first the barrel racing with her 17.18 seconds run to earn $5,543. Kamie Jo Crouse took first in the first round of the breakaway roping with her 2.0 seconds run for $2,228. There was a tie for first in the second round between Hope Thompson and Macy Young, with both ladies stopping the clock at 2.1 seconds to take home $2,069 each. Kamie Jo Crouse took first in the average for 4.7 seconds on two head to pocket $3,342;

Jett Fisher and Cole Patterson tied for first in the first round of the steer roping, with both ropers stopping the clock at 11.1 seconds to pocket $1,801 each. Chet Herren took first in the second round with his quick 9.6 seconds run to net him $1,927. Ty Williams took first in the third round with his 9.3 seconds run to earn $1,927. First in the average went to Cole Patterson for 31.8 seconds on three head to take home $2,890.

The total payout this year was $309,952. Burch Rodeo provided the stock along with sub-contractors Sutton Rodeos, Reeves Ranch Pro Rodeo Company, Kole Latham, Coy Thompson, Dakota Rodeo, Muddy Creek Pro Rodeo, Bailey Pro Rodeo, and Harper & Morgan Rodeo Co. Cheyenne Seymour and T.K. Sampson were the pickup men and Nathan Jestes and Beau Schueth provided the cowboy protection.
