Bucking 100 bulls in 2 days is not a small task, but McCoy Rodeo made it look effortless this year at Bullnanza at the Lazy E Arena in Guthrie, Oklahoma this past weekend. This year the bull riding was not limited to just a boy's club. Rodeo fans also go to cheer on the Eilers twins as the dynamic cowgirl duo gave it a shot as covering two of McCoy's bulls. There was also a touching tribute to Davey Dyke who recently passed away.
The bulls were rank and showed the bull riders no mercy. Despite the high number of entries, few were able to cover their bulls for the full 8 seconds. But if one rider was going to make a qualified ride, it was the last name on the day sheet on Day One- Noah Lee, son of PBR great Mike Lee. Noah Lee has already been making a name for himself the last few years and the big questions was would he go PBR or would he go PRCA? A few weeks ago right after turning 18, he made his PBR debut with an 88 point ride at the Cowtown Coliseum. At Bullnanza Friday night, he topped that with a 90.5 point ride on The Hondo (McCoy Rodeo) to take first in his PRCA debut and earn himself a $12,831 check, beating out Jhett Wheeler who had a phenomenal 90 point ride on the infamous Blue Duck (McCoy Rodeo). Wheeler took second and a check for $9,837. Rawley Johnson placed third with his 89 point ride on the formidable Tulsa Time to net him $7,271. Qynn Andersen and Jesse Petri tied for 5/6th with their 86 point rides to bring home $2,566 each. There was also another tie for 7/8th place between Kaleb Lewis and Lucas Mooningham, with both riders scoring 85.5 point for $1,497 each. Bullnanza paid out a total of $42,770 this year.
