Opening night of the PBR World Finals-Championship lit AT&T Stadium with big rides, big buck offs, and some big shakeups. PBR fans were shocked to see No. 1 Dalton Kasel and No. 2 Brady Fielder ending the night uncharacteristically shutout. You could audibly hear the crowds gasp with each buck off of the two top riders.

Jose Vitor Leme continued his white hot streak and went 2 for 2 and moved from No. 6 to No. 4. Leme first scored a big 88.75 point ride on Ugly This (McCoy Rodeo/Spencer Neil) to win Round 1 followed by a commanding 90.5 point ride in Round 2 on Oyster Creek Brawler (Farris Cattle/Big Schott Rodeo) netting him 177 Unleash The Beast points and a check for $150,166.67.

Miller Time (A&E Bucking Bulls/BS Cattle Co.) got the best of him in 6.07 seconds in Round 2 but Crimber was still able to collect 42 Unleash The Beast points.

Cue the Rocky theme track. In possibly the best comeback in PBR history to date, Jose Vitor Leme surged from No 31, post returning to competition after being sidelined by an injury 7 weeks ago, to No 18 in the world standings at the start of the World Finals to becoming 2025 World Champion. The feat included gaining a staggering 851 points in under a two month period to seal his gold buckle. Leme closes out his season with an impressive 59.5% riding average and now has the record for the most earned during a single season by netting over $2.15 million. Including his winnings from this season, Leme is also now the richest Western sports athlete in history, topping more than $8.3 million in earnings in PBR competition to date. Leme started off strong during Eliminations with covering all 4 of his bulls. He scored an 85 points on Whiplash (Blake Sharp/CB and Traci Lee/Richardson Land & Cattle) in Round 1, 87.5 points on Flapjack (Parker/OK Corralis/Gordon/D&H Cattle) in Round 2, 89.25 points on Triple Aught (Addi Drury/Nothin’ But Try/Diggers) for 89.25 points in Round 3, and a phenomenal 91.25 points on Pegasus (McCoy Rodeo/Spencer Neil) in Round 4 for a crucial 353 Unleash The Beast points. In Eliminations alone, these points propelled him from No. 18 to No. 6 in the standings and only 623 points from the world standing point leader Kasel.

Leme kept the momentum going In Round 1 of the PBR World Finals-Championship at AT&T, with an 88.75 point ride on Ugly This (McCoy Rodeo/Spencer Neil) to win Round 1followed by his 90.5 point ride on Oyster Creek Brawler (Farris Cattle/Big Schott Rodeo). This netted him another177 Unleash The Beast points to close the gap to only 446 points behind No. 1 Kasel.

The anticipation started to build on Sunday afternoon. in Round 3, Leme scored an 89.25 point ride on Lari’s Speck (Lari Crane/Lucky Blue Crab/Gene Owen) to win the round and earn 88 Unleash The Beast points. He was now only within 358 points of Kasel.

It all came down to the final round and the final face off between Leme and Kasel. Leme selected Walk Hard (Ace Of Spades/McGuire/Martinez) and Kasel selected Hang ‘em High (Bryan T. Smith/Doss Cattle). Leme rode first and scored a 91 point ride that had the stands of AT&T rocking with the roar of the crowd. As Kasel executed a near flawless ride, a nervous energy fell over the stands as fans wondered if he would make the the 91.25 points necessary to retain the No 1 spot and win the World Championship. In the possibly what will go down as greatest upset in PBR history, Kasel was marked just 90.25 points, crowning Leme the 2025 PBR World Champion and earning Leme $1,632,666.67 and 734 Unleash The Beast points.

Now 3x PBR World Champion, Leme is now tied with the greats Adriano Moraes and Silvano Alves for most World Championship titles won by a single rider. He is tied with Robson Palermo for most World Finals event titles won by a single rider as well. Only four riders in PBR history have won the World Finals multiple times. It is a prestigious list that also includes Troy Dunn and J.B. Mauney. Also worth noting is that Leme is one of only five riders to have covered all of his bulls en route to winning the PBR World Finals and he has accomplished this feat all three times he has won a world championship. He also tied for the prestigious Lane Frost/Brent Thurman Award with Aussie fan favorite Brady Fielder, which is presented to the rider(s) who have achieved the highest marked ride of the 2025 PBR World Finals: Unleash The Beast. Both Leme and Fielder scored 91 point rides in the championship round. Leme scored his on Walk Hard and Fielder scored his on Magic Hunter (Martinez Bucking Bulls, LLC).

2025 PBR Rookie of the Year went to Hudson Bolton who closed out the year at No. 7 in the world.

Man Hater earned the both of these titles with his 45 point score in Round 2 of Eliminations by bucking off Austin Richardson in 2.25 seconds, a 46 point score in Round 4 of Eliminations when paired with Alan de Souza (Taubate, Brazil) for 92 a point ride, and a World Finals best score of 46.5 points in Round 3 of the Championship when he sent Fielder's flying in 6.27 seconds.
