WRWC Semi-Final Round



Today is the day that determines which ladies will advance to the Women's Rodeo World Championships at AT&T Stadium in Arlington. The ladies were all gas, no breaks with several breakaway roping runs so fast if you blinked, you would miss them!


In the Challenger Barrel Racing, Payton Askins took first in the semi-finals with a 13.27 second run and will be advancing onto the finals thanks to her 40.479 time in the average for three runs. She has already earned a total of $6,500 so far. Joining her will be Kelsey Howard, who took third today with her 13.38 second run. Kelsey has 40.326 in the average and has earned $7,500 between the three rounds. The last lady advance is Kathleen Menard, who placed second in the semi-finals with a 13.324 second run. She stands 40.879 in the average and has won $3,500.

In the Pro Barrel Racing, Taycie Matthews continues to dominate with a first in the semi-finals with a quick 13.022 second run around the barrels to take home another $3,000. She has already won $10,000 so far and is first in the average with a time of 13.527. She will be joined by Madison McCaffity who took fourth in the semi-finals with a 13.209 second run but sits second in the average with a 39.959 and has earned a total of $4,250. Makenzie Mayes is also advancing on helped by her second place finish in the semi-finals from her quick 13.103 second run and third place finish in the average with 40.135. She had won $3,500 so far.


In the Challenger Team Roping, Kelsey Pepion & Heather Rogers are advancing thanks to their first place finish in the semi-finals with a 7.83 second run and 118.15 in the average on three head. This team has won $4,250 in the first three rounds. They will be joined by Kashlyn McIntyre & Christie McClary who placed fourth in the semi-finals with a 13.5 second run and had an 35.36 in the average to take home $4,250. The third team to advance will be Ashtyn Pratz & Tamara Lewis who placed sixth in the semi-finals with their 14.88 second run and had an average of 37.7. They have also won $4,250 so far.


In the Challenger Team Roping, Markie Battaglia & Mandy Niesen punched their ticket to Arlington thanks to their fast 6.79 second run for first in the semi-finals. They took sixth in the average but have already won $4,750. Advancing on with them will be Beverly Robbins & Jessy Remsburg who took second in the semi-finals with a 6.85 second run. This team is first in the average for 26.6 on three head and has earned $6,500. The third team joining them is Cassidy Boggs & Rylie Smith who were second in the average with 33.51 on three head to take home $5,000 so far.

In the Challenger Breakaway Roping, Madison Stanley took first with her quick 1.82 second run to punch her ticket to Arlington. She has already earned $3,000 so far. Joining her will be Wylie Jo Hodges who took third in the semi-finals with a 2.19 second run and is first in the average with a 7.71. She has already pocketed $6,000 so far. The third lady advancing will be Utah cowgirl Quealy Probst, who was fifth in the semi-finals with her 3.13 second run, but took second in the average with an 8.03 to earn $5,500 in the last three rounds.



In the Pro Breakway Roping, Josie Conner punched her ticket to Arlington with a 2.2 second run for first in the semi-finals and first in the average with an impressive 7 on three head. She has won $9,000 so far. Coming with her to the finals will be Cadee Williams and Cheyanne McCartney. Cadee took second in the semi-finals with a 2.45 second run and second in the average for 23 on three head to net $2,000. Cheyenne placed fourth in the semi-finals for her 2.52 second run and third in the average for 23 on three head to take home $3,250 so far.


In the Limited division, Emmry Edwards is the Limited Breakaway Roping 1D Champion to score herself a trip to Arlington. She will be joined by Charmaine Holden who is the Limited Barrel Racing Champion.


The 2025 World Champions were crowned today at the conclusion of each event in the semi-final round. Kelsey Howard was crowned Challenger Barrel Racing World Champion and Makenzie Mayes was awarded Pro Barrel Racing World Champion. In the Heading World Champion, Ashtyn Pratz was awarded it for Challenger and Katelyn Perkins took it for the Pro division. Shanna Perkins was crowned Challenger Team Roping Heeler and Jimmi Jo Montera took the title for the Pro. Wylie Jo Hodges won Challenger Breakaway World Champion and Martha Angelone was crowned for the Pro.


Now all eyes are on this Saturday to see who will win the big money in the finals of the Women's Rodeo World Championship at AT&T Stadium in Arlington.
