San Juan Stampede

The San Juan Stampede kicked off Jun 12-14th at the San Juan Fairgrounds in Monticello, Utah. Edwin Nobriga was awarded all-around cowboy along with a check for $1,606 for competing in the tie-down roping and team roping. Dean Thompson took first in the bareback riding with an 80 point ride on Windy Whiskey (Salt River Rodeo) to bring home $1,898. There was a tie for first in the steer wrestling between Nick Guy and Hadley Jackson, with both cowboys stopping the clock at 4.8 seconds to bring home $2,021 each. Dustin Egusquiza& JC Flake took first in the team roping with their 4.1 seconds run for a $3,340 check each. Statler Wright got it done the Wright way with a big 86.5 points for first in the saddle bronc riding on Tender Loin (Legacy Pro Rodeo) for $2,101. In the tie-down roping, Ryan Belew took first with his 9.1 second run to earn $2,638. Julie Plourde took first in the barrel racing with her 15.93 second run to pocket $2,047. Maddy Deerman took first in the breakaay roping with her quick 2.1 second run for $2,063. There was only two qualified rides in the bull riding. Jate Frost took first with his 79.5 point ride on Crawfish(Salt River Rodeo) for a $3,184 check. Legacy Pro Rodeo provided the stock along with sub-contractors Anthony Verdino and Salt River Rodeo. Ty Reeder, Tanner Haviland and Cody Resor were the pickup men and Joe Butler and Austin Jones kept the bull riders safe.
