Rodeo Austin

Rodeo Austin, held March 14-28, is another one of the big Texas Swing rodeos. Cowboys and cowgirls headed to the Travis County Expo Center in hopes of to leaving the Lone Star state with a piece of the over $400,000 payout to give them an early advantage in the dash for the WNFR cash. One cowboy that walked away with his pockets a bit heavier was Stetson Wright, who netted himself a check for $3,525 for all-around cowboy by competing in the saddle bronc riding and the bull riding. He also tied for sixth place in Round One of the saddle bronc riding with his 84.5 point ride for an additional $2,217, and also tied for sixth again in the semi-final with his 84 point ride for another $1,308.


Bradlee Miller took first in the first round of the bareback riding with his big 87.5 point ride on Buckle Bunny (Dakota Rodeo) for $5,376. Ethan Mazurenko took first in the semi-finals with his strong 87.5 points on Ghosthand (Beutler & Son Rodeo) for $5,946. Bradlee Miller beat out Keenan Hayes by half a point with his 89.5 point ride on No Whiskey (Beutler & Son Rodeo) for first in the finals to take home $12,032.


In the first round of the steer wrestling, Tucker Allen took first with his fast 3.6 seconds run to pocket $5,277. Cash Robb took first in the second round with his quick 3.4 seconds run to earn $5,277. Nick Guy took first in the finals with his 3.8 seconds run to bring home $2,600. Nick Guy placed first in the average with 13.2 seconds on three head for $7,916.


James Arviso & Rance Doyal took first in Round One of the team roping with their 3.2 seconds run to take home $5,277 each. Dustin Egusquiza & JC Flake took first in the second round with their lightning fast 2.9 seconds run for $5,277 each. Tee McLeod & Trey Yates took first in the finals with their 3.7 seconds run to net them $2,600 each. First in the average and a check for $7,916 each went to Tanner Tomlinson & Coleby Payne for 11.6 seconds on three head.


Ross Griffin took first in the first round of the saddle bronc riding with his huge 88.5 points on Lollipop (Beutler & Son Rodeo) for $6,019. Zeke Thurston took first in the semi-finals with his incredible 88.5 point ride on Grow A Pair (Beutler & Son Rodeo for $5,946 followed by first in the final round with his jaw dropping 91.5 points on Green Bay (Beutler & Son Rodeo) for an additional $12,032.


In Round One of the tie-down roping, Dylan Hancock took first with his 7.6 seconds run to pocket $5,277. Riley Pruitt took first in the second round with his 7.1 seconds run for $5,277. Dylan Hancock took first again in the finals with his 8.0 seconds run to net him $2,600 as well as first in the average for 25.0 seconds on three head to take home an additional $7,916.


Carlee Otero took first in the first round of the barrel racing with her 14.17 seconds run to earn $7,046. There was a tie for first in the semi-finals between LaTricia Duke and Kassie Mowry, with both ladies stopping the clock at 14.20 seconds to net them $6,649 each. Kassie Mowry took first in the finals with her 14.19 seconds run to bring home $12,972.


There was a tie for first in Round One of the breakaway roping between Josie Conner and Hali Williams, with both ladies having matching fast 1.6 seconds runs to earn $6,599 each. Kelsie Domer took first in the semi-finals with her quick 2.0 seconds run for $7,074. Sawyer Gilbert took first in the finals with her 1.8 seconds to take home $12,972.


Marco Juarez took first in the first round of the bull riding with his 87.5 points on Hightrain (Andrews Rodeo) for $6,126. T Parker took first in the semi-finals with his huge 89 points on Lance Creek (Beutler & Son Rodeo) for $5,946. Qynn Andersen took first in the finals with his huge 89 points on Wingman (Beutler & Son Rodeo) for $13,035.


Beutler & Son Rodeo provided the stock along with sub-contractors Rafter G Rodeo, Powder River Rodeo, Dakota Rodeo, Andrews Rodeo, and Diamond G Rodeo. Dalton Barnes and Matt Scott were the pickup men and Austin Ashley, Weston Rutkowski, and Nathan Harp kept the bull riders safe.
