Reno Rodeo

One of Nevada's biggest rodeos, the Reno Rodeo, was held June June 20-28th at the Reno Livestock Events Center. Many cowboys and cowgirls made the trip up to "The Biggest Little City in the World" for a chance some of the $750,000 payout to get an advantage in the dash for The NFR cash. One cowboy that got it done the "Wright way" and left with heavier pockets was Stetson Wright who earned himself a $22,654 check for all-around cowboy by competing in the saddle bronc riding and bull riding. He also took first in the bull riding with an incredible 92.5 point ride on Speed Dial (Corey & Lange Rodeo) for $10,502, and first in the finals for his 89.5 point ride on Loguns Legacy (Rosser Rodeo) for another $2,700, and first in the average for 182 points on two head for another $10,502.

Kade Sonnier took first in the first round of the bareback riding with his big 86.5 point ride on Good Girl (Diamond G Rodeo) to earn $6,045. Garrett Shadbolt took first in the second round with his 87.5 point ride on Silver Beaver (Bridwell Pro Rodeos) for $6,045, and first in the finals with his phenomenal 89 point ride on Right On Q (Rosser Rodeo) for another $1,650. First in the average went to  Jess Pope for 255.5 points on three head to net him $9,068.

There was a tie for first in the steer wrestling between Stetson Jorgensen and Will Lummus, with both bulldoggers stopping the clock at 4.4 seconds to bring home $6,242 each. Riley Duvall took first in the second round with his quick 4.0 second run to earn $6,677. Stetson Jorgensen took first in the finals for his 4.2 second run for $1,392. First in the average went to Will Lummus for 13.5 seconds on three head to earn $10,016.

There was also a tie for first in the first round of the team roping between Mason Appleton & Rance Doyal and Aaron Tsinigine & Jeremy Buhler, with both teams stopping the clock at 4.7 seconds to take home $6,242 each. Cyle Denison & Lane Mitchell, took first in the second round with their 4.2 seconds run to earn $6,677 each. Coy Rahlmann & Cole Curry took first in the finals with their 5.0 seconds run to pocket $1,392 each. First in the average went to Aaron Tsinigine & Jeremy Buhler for their 16.2 seconds on three head to net them $10,016 each.

Cash Wilson took first in the first round of the saddle bronc riding with his big 88.5 points on Lil Brother (Andrews Rodeo) for $5,969. There was a tie for first in the second round between Zachary Dallas on Blue Angel (Flying 5 Rodeo) and Weston Patterson on Get Down (Flying U Rodeo) with both riders scoring huge 88.5 point rides to take home $5,272 each. Dallas also took firs in the finals with a beauty of an 89 point ride on Yeti Rambler (Rosser Rodeo) $1,650. First in the average went to Damian Brennan for his 263.5 points on three head to net him $8,953.

In the first round of the tie-down roping, Marty Yates took first with his 7.8 second run to earn $6,702. Shad The Moneyman Mayfield was in the money with his 7.7 second run to take first in the second round to net him a check for $6,702. Shane Hanchey took first in the finals with his 7.7 second run to take home $1,407. First in the average went to Riley Mason Webb for his 26.5 seconds on three head for $10,052.

In the women's events, Anita Ellis took first in the barrel racing with her quick 16.94 second run for $5,066. McKenna Coronado took first in the second round with her 16.62 second run to pocket $5,066. Michelle Alley took first in the finals with her 16.81 second run to earn $3,752. First in the average went to Hailey Kinsel for her 50.97 seconds on three head for a $7,598 payout. In the first round of the breakaway roping, Shelby Boisjoli-Meged took first with her lightning fast 1.9 second run for $4,693. There was a tie for first in the second round between Kinlie Brennise and Josie Conner, wiht both ladies stopping the clock at 2.2 seconds to bring home $4,224 each. Taylor Munsell took first in the final round with her quick 2.6 second run to earn $2,099, and first in the average for 8.0 seconds on three head for an additional $7,039.

Flying U Rodeo provided the stock along with sub-contractors Big Bend Rodeo, All In Pro Rodeos, Western Rodeos, Corey & Lange Rodeo, Rosser Rodeo, Andrews Rodeo, Big Stone Rodeo Inc, Bridwell Pro Rodeos, Diamond G Rodeo, and Flying 5 Rodeo. Matt Twitchell, Bobby Marriott, and Bronc Boehnlein were the pickup men and Warren Enz, Cody Webster, and Dusty Tuckness were the bullfighters.
