The Newell Pro Rodeo was held June 5-6th in Brooks, Alberta at the Silver Sage Comm. Corral. Kody Lamb took first in the bareback riding with his 82 points on Hush Money (Big Stone Rodeo) for $1,183. Kellan Statham took first in the steer wrestling with his 4.3 seconds run to earn $2,281. Kavis Drake & Denim Ross took first in the team roping with their 5.5 seconds run to take home $2,099 each. Cache Schellenberg took first in the saddle bronc riding with a huge 88.5 point ride on Rubels (Big Stone Rodeo) for $1,565. Ty Harris took first in the tie-down roping with a 9.0 seconds run to pocket $2,638. Valerie Gillespie took first in the barrel racing with her 17.51 seconds run to earn $2,500. Celie Salmond took first in the breakaway roping for her quick 2.9 seconds run to net her $2,052. Grady Young took first in only three qualified ride with his big 87 points on Key Lix Emerson (Big Stone Rodeo) for $1,816.

The total payout this year was $74,710.60. Big Stone Rodeo provided the stock along with sub-contractor Legend Rodeo. Travis Erickson and Lee Trach were the pickup men and Austin Mestin and Walker Hutton kept the bull riders safe.
