FWSS Wild Card & Semifinals A

The list of competitors are starting to narrow out as the FWSS moves into the Wild Card and Semifinals A rounds to see who will move onto the championship round. The competition has been fierce with several bronc riders needing to score 90 or above to place first and several runs below 3 seconds in the breakaway roping. For some, a big win at FWSS is crucial in the dash for cash to make it to the NFR. From the Wild Card round, two contestants will advance to the semifinals in each event. In each of the semifinal groups, the top four contestants will advance to the championship round.
Wild Card Round

It was another night of big rides in the roughtstock events. Nick Pelke took first in the bareback riding with a big 87.5 point ride on Bigtimin Houseton (Calgary Stampede) to advance to the semifinals. He will be joined by Dean Thompson. Dawson Hay had an impressive 89.5 point ride on Painted J ( J Bar J Rodeo) to advance in the saddle bronc riding with Wyatt Casper. In the bull riding, Lukasey Morris took first with an 87 point ride on Fifth Avenue (Rafter G Rodeo). He will be advancing with Bryce Jenson.
In the men's timed events, Rowdy Parrott took first in the steer wrestling with his 5.0 second run to advance with Seth Peterson. Clay Smith & Coleby Payne took first in the team roping with their 3.8 seconds run. Clint Summers & Paul Eaves will be moving on with them. John Douch took first in the tie-down roping with a quick 8.4 second run.

In the women's timed events, there was a tie for first in the breakaway roping between Macy Young & Kinlie Brennise with both ladies stopping the clock at 2.3 seconds to advance. Toria Madsen took first in the barrel racing with her 16.15 second run. She will advance with Megan McLeod-Sprague.
Semifinals A

In roughstock events, Jacob Lees took first in the bareback riding with an 88.5 points on All Pink (J Bar J Pro Rodeo). He will be moving on with Mason Clements, Weston Timberman, and Bradlee Miller. Zeke Thurston took first in the saddle bronc riding with an 88 point ride on Atomic Blonde (Sankey Pro Rodeo and Phenom Genetics). Joining him in the championship round will be Kade Bruno,, Statler Wright, and Cash Wilson. Bryce Jensen took first in the bull riding with an 86.5 points on Swanky (Rafter G Rodeo). Coming with him to the champsionship round will be Maverick Potter, and Jestyn Woodward due to limited qualified rides.

In the timed events, there was as tie for first in the steer wrestling between Don Payne and Mike McGinn who both had 3.6 second runs. Advancing with them will be Stetson Jorgensen and Ty Erickson. Cyle Denison & Lane Mitchell took first in the team roping. Coming with them will be Tanner Tomlinson & Travis Graves, Clint Summers & Paul Eaves, and Cody Carter & Blake Bentley. In the team roping, Shad Mayfield took first with his 8.4 second run. Brushton Minton, Ty Harris and, Michael Otero will be advancing with him.

In the women's timed events, there was a tie for first in the breakaway roping between Joey Williams, Kinlie Brennise, and TiAda Gray who all had 2.3 second runs. Hope Thompson, will be joining them. Andrea Busby took first in the barrel racing with her 16.20 seconds run. Advancing with her will be Carlee Otero, Toria Madsen, and Leslie Smalygo.
