Fort Worth Stock Show Brackets 1-3

The Fort Worth Stock Show is underway in the Dickies Arena, Texas. This rodeo is one of the big ones after Denver, attracting rodeo athletes all the way from Canada to compete for a piece of the big payout to start their 2025 season strong. The FWSS consists of 7 brackets, a Wild Card round with athletes advancing to the semifinals followed by the final round.
Bracket 1

In the opening bracket for roughstock events, Kade Bruno took first place in both rounds of the saddle bronc riding to advance to the semi-finals thanks to an 87.5 points in not one but both rounds. His winning ride on Brookman Rodeo’s Apollo, earned him $4,636. Also advancing to the semifinals is Ben Anderson with Traylin Martin qualifying for the Wild Card Round. Weston Timberman took first in the bareback in Round 1 with 84.5 points on Brookman Rodeo’s SOS and will be advancing to the semi finals. Dean Thompson, took first in the bareback in Round 2 with his 88 point ride on Tator Tot (Korkow Rodeo) and a spot in the Wild Card round. And in the bull riding, Maverick Potter took first in Round 1 with his 78 point ride on Dr. Strange ( Sutton Rodeos) for a spot in the semifinals. He also had an 83.5 point ride on Heatin’ Up ( Sutton Rodeos) in Round 2 to finish second and was the only bull rider to have two qualified rides, earned him a nice $7,000 paycheck. Also moving onto the semifinals is Roscoe Jarboe and Blaine Beaty to the Wild Card round.

In the men's timed events, Shad Mayfield won first in Round 1 of the tie-down roping and tied the arena record with his 7.2 seconds run. Mayfield tied with Kincaide Henry for first place with their matching 8.6 seconds runs in Round 2, with both advancing to the semifinals. Glenn Jackson will move onto the Wild Card round. There was a tie for first in Round 1 in the steer wrestling between Ty Erickson and Sam Goings, who both had 3.6 second runs. Erickson took first again in Round 2 with his 3.7 second run to snag himself a spot in the semifinals with Sam Goings. Jace Melvin secured himself a spot in the Wild Card round. There was also a tie for first in Round 1 of the team roping between Brady Tryan & Calgary Smith; and Mason Appleton & Rance Doyal with both teams having 4.7 second runs. Clay Smith & Coleby Payne took first in Round 2 with their 4.1 and a spot in the Wild Card round. Denison & Mitchell and Tryan & Smith will be the two teams advancing to the semifinals.

In the women's timed events, Kinlie Brennise took first in the breakaway roping in Round 1 with her fast 2.5 second run to earn a place in the Wild Card round. Hope Thompson took first in Round 2 with her 2.6 second run to advance to semifinals with Lari Dee Guy. LaTricia Duke took first in the first round of the barrel racing with her 16.40 run. Toria Madsen took first in Round 2 with her 16.46 second run which earned her a spot in the Wild Card round. Advancing on in the semifinals is Sissy Winn and LaTricia Duke.
Bracket 2

In the roughstock events, Mason Clements took first in Round 1 with his 86.5 point ride on Coconut Jamboree (Korkow Rodeo) to secure a spot in the semifinals round. Gavin French took first in Round 2 with an 85 point ride on Cash & Carry (Andrews Rodeo) for his spot in the semifinals round. Canadian cowboy Kody Lamb took the Wild Card spot. In saddle bronc riding, Jarrod Hammons took first in the first round with his 85 point ride on Rude Roommate (Brookman Rodeo) for a spot in the Wild Card round. In Round 2 there was a tie between Blaise Freeman, on Carney Girl (Dakota Rodeo), and Ross Griffin, on Richie’s High (Dakota Rodeo), who had matching 84 points rides. Freeman is advancing to the semifinals with Cash Wilson. And in the bull riding, Luke Mast had an outstanding 88.5 points ride on the Bumpstock (Rafter G Rodeo) securing himself not only a spot in the semifinals round, but also as the first rider to ever go the full 8 seconds on Bumpstock, who had formerly been unridden. In Round 2, Gavin Mitchell took first with his 85.5 points on Bucking for Cash (Rafter G Rodeo) for the other spot in the semifinals round. Trey Benton III will advance to the Wild Card round.

In the men's timed events, Seth Peterson took first in Round 1 of the steer wrestling with his 3.9 second run for a spot in the Wild Card round. Eli Lord took first in Round 2 with his 4.4 second run and will advance to the semifinals with Don Payne. Chance Oftedahl took first in Round 1 of the tie-down roping with his 9.7 second run and first in Round 2 with his 8.1 seconds run to secure himself a spot in the semifinals with Shane Hanchey. Hunter Herrin will advance to the Wild Card round. In the team roping, Navajo Nations cowboy Derrick Begay and Colter Todd took first in Round 1 with their 4.2 second run for a spot in the Wild Card round. Kaleb Driggers, and Junior Nogueira took first in Round 2 with their 3.9 second run. Dawson & Dillon Graham, and Erich Rogers & Kollin VonAhn will be advancing to the semifinals round.

In the women's timed events, there was a tie for first in the breakaway roping between Rylee George and Josie Conner, who both had 2.1 second runs in Round 1 with both ladies advancing onto the semifinals round. Fan favorite JJ Hampton took first in Round 2 with her 2.2 second run to secure a spot in the Wild Card round. In the barrel racing, Jymmy Kay Cox took first in Rd 1 with her 16.27 run, the fastest time so far in the rodeo. Wenda Johnson took first in Round 2 with her 16.27 second run to secure her spot in the Wild Card round. Advancing to the semifinals are Tiany Schuster and Julie Plourde.
Bracket 3

In Bracket 3 of the roughstock events, there was a tie for first in the bareback riding in Round 1 between Bradlee Miller on Raylynn for the Win (Diamond G Rodeo) and Waylon Bourgeois on Empty Promises (Anderson Rodeo) who both had 87.5 point rides to advance to the semifinals. Drake Amundson took first in Round 2 with his 85.5 points on Minnesota Joe (Penthouse Pro Rodeo) for the Wild Card spot. Brody Cress absolutely dominated in both rounds of the saddle bronc riding, starting in Round 1 with an incredible, nearly flawless 90.5 point ride on Smarty Pants (Dakota Rodeo) followed by an 89.5 points on Awesome Sauce (United Pro Rodeo) to secure his spot in the semifinal round. Advancing with Cress in the semifinals is New Mexico cowboy Zac Dallas with Kolby Wanchuk talking the Wild Card spot. In the bull riding, Wade Tuni had a big 88 point ride on Black Magic (Andrews Rodeo) for first in Round 1 and a spot in the semifinals. The Aussie Scott Wells took first in Round 2 with an 85 point ride on Back Bender (United Pro Rodeo) to take the other spot in the semifinals. Advancing to the Wild Card round is Lukasey Morris.

In the men's timed events, Tom Crouse took first in Round 1 with his 9.7 second run for a spot in the semifinals. There was a tie in Round 2 between Michael Otero and Quade Hiatt who had matching 8.7 runs for first. Otero will advance to the semifinals and Seth Hall to the Wild Card round. Gavin Soileau and Stetson Jorgensen tied for first in Round 1 of the steer wrestling with both clocking 4.0 second runs. In Round 2, Cash Robb took first with his 4.2 second run. Both Robb and Jorgensen will advance to the semifinals. Gavin Soileau took the Wild Card spot. In the team roping, Nelson Wyatt and Jonathan Torres took first in Round 1 with their 5.2 seconds run. Peyton Walters and Jake Edwards took first in Round 2 with their 4.6 second run. Advancing to the semifinals are Tsinigine & Tryan and Snow & Koch and moving onto the Wild Card is Egurrola & Davis.

In the women's timed events, the ladies were on fire in the breakaway roping in Round 1 with 4 women clocking runs under 3 seconds. Beau Peterson had the fastest time with a 2.3 second run for first place. In Round 2, TiAda Gray took first with her 2.2 second run and secured a spot in the semifinals along side Jackie Crawford. Nicole Baggarley secured herself the Wild Card spot. In the barrel racing, Carlee Otero continues her white hot start to the season with a speedy 16.35 second run for first in Round 1 and again in Round 2 with a 16.19 second run to secure her spot in the semifinals. Joining her with be fan favorite Lisa Lockhart. Ilyssa Riley secured the Wild Card spot.
