The Canby Rodeo was held August 12-16th at the Bob Trevers Arena in Canby, Oregon. Dylan Hancock was awarded all-around cowboy and $1,469 for entering the tie-down roping and team roping.
In the roughstock events, there wasa. tie for first in the bareback riding between Waylon Bourgeois on Disco Party (Calgary Stampede) and Jacob Lees on Scarlett Cat (Bridwell Pro Rodeo), with both riders scoring incredible 89 point rides to pocket $5,667 each. Layton Green took first in the saddle bronc riding for his impressive 90 point ride on Dandy Delight (Calgary Stampede) for $6,585. TJ Gray took first in the bull riding for his strong 88 points on Black Hole Sun (Bridwell Pro Rodeo) for $6,175.
Justin Shaffer took first in the first round of the steer wrestling for his 3.9 second run to earn $2,462. Don Payne took first in the second round for his 4.0 second run to net him. $2,462. First in the average went to Justin Shaffer for 8.0 seconds on two head to take home $3,692.
Dustin Egusquiza & JC Flake took first in the first round of the team roping for their 4.1 second run to earn $2,406 each. Kaleb Driggers & Junior Nogueira took first in the second round for their 4.0 second run to bring home $2,406 each. Dustin Egusquiza & JC Flake took first in the average for 8.3 seconds on two head to net them another $3,609 each.
Riley Mason Webb took first in the tie-down roping for his quick 7.7 second run to earn $2,703. There was a tie for first in the second round between Tyson Durfey and Macon Murphy, with both ropers stopping the clock at 7.9 seconds to bring home $2,526 each. Shane Hanchey took first in the average for 16.2 seconds on two head to pocket $4,054.
In the women's events, Megan McLeod-Sprague took first in the barrel racing for her 16.29 second run to earn $5,706.
Bridwell Pro Rodeos provided the stock along with sub-contractors Calgary Stampede, Gene King, and Steve Simons. Josh Daries, Logan Blasdell, and Roy Jackson were the bullfighters and Matt Twitchell, Mitch Coleman, and Tyler Kraft were the pickup men.
