Brighton Field Day Festival & Rodeo

The "Grandad" of the Seminole Tribe of Florida's festivals, Brighton Field Day Festival & Rodeo, was held Feb. 13-15 in Okeechobee, Florida. Cowboys and cowgirls headed to The Sunshine State for some much needed sunny weather and a chance to take home a piece of the $100,000+ payout. This year fans were spellbound by trick riding acts from Hailey Proctor and Joe Tohonnie Jr and the White Mountain Apache crown dancers gave a prayer, performed ceremonial dances, and interacted with rodeo fans.

All-around cowboy and a check for $2,087 went to Cross Fulford for tie-down roping and steer wrestling. Andy Gingerich took first in the bareback riding with an 84 point ride on No. F18 (Painted Pony Championship Rodeo) for $2,456. Mose Fleming was fastest in the steer wrestling with a 4.2 second run for first and a $2,119 check. In the team roping, Bradley Massey & Zack Mabry took first with a quick 4.4 second run for $2,233 each. Ben Mayworth took first in the tie-down roping with an 8.0 seconds run for $2,365. There was a tie for first in the barrel racing between Katie Chism and Margo Crowther, with both ladies stopping the clock at 15.02 seconds to take home $3,046 each.
