The North Texas Fair & Rodeo kicked off August 21-23rd under a blazing hot Texas sun. Rodeo fans braved the triple digits temps to cheer on their favorite rodeo athletes and dance the night away to an incredible line up of country artists. One unique feature of this rodeo is that your rodeo ticket also covers admission to the concert after, a big perk for fans looking for affordable family fun and budget friendly date nights.
All-around cowboy went to Mason Stueve, who earned himself a check for $788 by competing in the tie-down roping and team roping. Connor Griffith took first in the bareback riding with his 82 points on High Hopes (Andrews Rodeo) to pocket $1,015. Walt Arnold took first in the steer wrestling with his fast 3.9 seconds run to earn $927. Conley Kleinhans & Kyler Kanady took first in the team roping with their speedy 4.2 seconds run to take home $1,519 each. Clay Greenslade took first in the saddle bronc riding with an 87 points on Chaynee's Fancy (Diamond G Rodeo) for $1,184. Lane Webb took first in the tie-down roping for his quick 7.7 seconds run to net him $1,063. Ashley Castleberry took first in the barrel racing with her 17.14 seconds run for $1,164. The bulls were a bit too much for the riders and there were no qualified rides.
This year the total payout was $31,403. Andrews Rodeo provided the stock along with Diamond G Rodeo, JC Kitaif ProRodeos, Sutton Rodeos, McCoy Rodeo, and Penthouse Pro Rodeo. Preston Burf and Cam Rogers were the pickup men and Brody Smith and Ryan Fizer kept the bull riders safe.
