The bull riders took over Gainbridge Fieldhouse for the Ariat PBR Indianapolis event, presented by Cooper Tires this past Friday and Saturday night. Elizmar Jeremias rode his way to the top of the leaderboard in Round 1on Friday with a big 88.75 point ride on Mike’s Motive (Blake Sharp/High Voltage/Wetzel/Knott), moving him upwards from No. 31 to No. 29 in the Unleash The Beast standings and earning him 28 Unleash The Beast points. Tying for second was Boudreaux Campbell on Judgement Day (Premier Livestock/Rafter XL) and Ethan Winckler on Magic Touch (Phenom/Lewis/Fay/Bohlmann/Dragonetics/Sankey) with both riders scoring 88.25 point rides and 17.5 Unleash the Beast points. Campbell moved from No 37 to 34 and Winckler from No 45 to 43. Andrew Alvidrez took fourth with an 87.5 point ride atop The Player (Blake Sharp) for 16 Unleash The Beast points to retain his spot at No. 21. Fifth place went to Keyshawn Whitehorse who had an 87 point ride on Grey Fox (Universal Pro Rodeo/Rachel & Dustin Powell/Delmas/Williams), netting him 15 points and a small bump up from No. 9 to No. 7 in the Unleash The Beast standings
It was also the second Monster Energy Team Challenge edition of the Show-Me Showdown. The Missouri Thunder out rode the Kansas City Outlaws by 348.75 points to 169, thanks Campbell’s 88.25 point ride on Judgement Day (Premier Livestock/Rafter XL).
Round 1 also featured another ABBI (American Bucking Bull Inc) Classic competition, showcasing 18 impressive four-year-old bulls competing for a chance to win $19,000. Yahoo (Buck/D&H Cattle) won the event with a score of 88.72 points and the Indianapolis Classic event title by bucking off Julio Cesar Marques in only 4.71 seconds.
On Saturday night, Andrew Alvidrez rode victorious with his highest career score to win the Ariat PBR Indianapolis, presented by Cooper Tires, surging from No. 21 to No. 7 in the Unleash The Beast standings. He had an 87.5 point ride in Round 1 on The Player (Blake Sharp) followed by an 80 point ride on American You (Universal Pro Rodeo/Rachel & Dustin Powell/Delmas/Williams) in Round 2, and a near perfect 92.5 point ride in the championship round on Nobody (Snyder Family/Gene Owen Bucking Bulls) for first. He earned 133 Unleash The Beast points.
Koltin Hevalow was the only other rider to go 3 for 3. He started with an 85.25 point ride in Round 1 on Whiskey Business (Blake Sharp/UB Bucking Company) followed by an 84 point ride on Ridin’ Salty (Drink LMNT/McCoy Rodeo) in Round 2 and an 84.5 point ride on Doze You Down (Premier Livestock/Rafter KL) in the championship round. Havelow gained 82 Unleash The Beast points and jumped from No. 24 to No. 12.
Round 1's winner, Elizmar Jeremias, took third. He had the winning ride Friday with his 88.75 points on Mike’s Motive (Blake Sharp/High Voltage/Wetzel/Knott). In Round 2, Jeremias was not as fortunate and was bucked off in 4.81 seconds by Wild Card (Blake Sharp/UB Bucking Company). He had one heck of a comeback in the championship round with a phenomenal 90.75 point ride on Hoobastank (Blake Sharp/Hanks). He left Indianapolis with 83 Unleash The Beast points and moved up from No. 31 to No. 23.
Fourth place wen to Boudreaux Campbell who started off strong with an 88.75 point ride in Round 1 on Judgement Day (Premier Livestock/Rafter KL). Like Jeremias, luck was not on his side in Round 2 and Campbell was sent flying by Exodus (Jane Clark/Gene Owen) in 4.64 seconds. Also like Jeremias, he had a solid comeback ride in the championship round with a big 87.5 point ride on Big Bank (Universal Pro Rodeo/Rachel & Dustin Powell/Delmas/Williams), earning him 55.5 Unleash The Beast points and moving from No 37 to No. 30.
Dalton Kasel took fifth. He started on Friday with an 85 point ride atop Mahan (Jane Clark/Gene Owen) in Round 1 followed by a commanding 89 point ride on Nightmare (Universal Pro Rodeo/Delmas/Williams) in Round 2, but was unseated by UTZ BesTex Smokestack (Blake Sharp/Chris Utz/Carey Brothers) in 7.61 in the championship round. He earned 53 Unleash The Beast points and jumped up two spots from No. 4 to No. 2 in the standings.
Moving onto the four legged athletes, Always Been Crazy (Jane Clark/Gene Owen) was marked 45.25 points to win the YETI “Built for the Wild” Bull of the Event title for his 2.69-second buckoff of Ethan Winckler. Magic Potion (K Bar C Bucking Bulls/Daniels Cattle Co.) continued his buckoff streak to 45, which places him just three behind the infamous Cool Whip (Julian/Stacy Addison/D&H/Crooked W) for the PBR record. Magic Potion sent Luciano De Castro (Guzolandia, Brazil) into the dirt in 1.92 seconds.
